Joseph Allen and Sons - Question

I bought one of these the other day and it came back. It doesn't have the non xxl stamp on it, so I assume this is older. Does anyone have an idea approximately what year it is? Thanks.

Does it say "Hand Forged" on it and does it say J. Allen & Sons?

It just says J.Allen & Sons, Sheffield.

If I'm not mistaken, I think that is before the non xxl was being stamped on it, the Hand Forged was before that. I've been looking for a chart someone posted a while ago on the history of it but can't find it:mad3: I really enjoy my hand forged though.
