Well if you really want to get in good with SWMBO, buy her one for cleaning her jewelry and just use it occasionally for razors.

Here's a link (http://search.ebay.com/ultrasonic-cleaner_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8QQsatitleZQ22ultrasonicQ 20cleanerQ22QQsubmitsearchZSearch) to the results of a search I just did on eBay -- lots of merchandise, just waiting to be bought...

Alternatively, find a tattoo shop near you that's going-out-of-business, and offer to buy one of their "industrial-strength" ultrasonic cleaners -- those babies run all day long (which is why good ones cost so much; it's the duty-cycle).

I got myself a German Emag (that's the company) Emmi 5 a week ago and I love it. Can only recommend it.
Retail would be around 150$ but that's as cheap as the new professional cleaners get, the cheaper ones (~40$) that are available everywhere don't even reach the cleaning capacity of running water ;)

You should be fine with about any "industrial" model. Make sure you get an output-wattage of at least 50-60W per litre of water in the tank.

Here's the one I use, brand name Haier (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882737002). The price on that link is about as good as it gets anywhere.

One of the big things to look for in these things is tank capacity. This model has a 21oz tank, which is deep enough to completely cover a DE razor. Most ultrasonic jewelry cleaners have a tank capacity that is smaller, which won't cover the whole razor. I do up to three razors at a time in it using nothing more than plain water with a literally a drop or two of dish washing detergent. It'll even clean a pair of prescription glasses, a watch, and there's a holder to clean two CDs or DVDs at a time. I'm quite pleased with it.
