Non-Aerosol Gels / Fighting Acne and Possible Razor Bumps

My 16 year old has started shaving with a minty Schick Injector J1 (He keeps it in the 500 case it came it).........

He has expressed a total preference for gels.....He has been using the discontinued NXT gel that we got from Big Lots (it is the one that lights up every minute or two). I admit that I use the NXT when rushed and find it a fine product for that.....

He is on a trip, and I found a sample tube of Woodys Gel that came from the B&B sample box of 2008.

But I ask....what else is out there...

I tried the High Time Bump Stopper Gel, and found it to be decent.

My son has typically African American hair, and may have issues with razor bumps, but none have shown up yet. His main concern is his acne right now.......

The only gel I usually see is the King of Shaves stuff at the grocer. He might also try Shave Secret. It isn't a gel, I know, but it rubs on smooth and works excellently.

Why the preference for gels? What else has he tried?

I know that at that age I preferred gels, too -- but that was because they were "cooler" than aerosol creams :biggrin1:

I think it is the cool factor, but, for now he is set on using gels......

You might want to try Mentos Ultra Shave Gel. myMentosShave.com. Can be found at Atlanta Barber Supply on web. Reasonably priced. I have not tried this myself but I plan to do so.

I use the Mentos Ultra Facial Conditioner when I need to take a break from alcohol based AS splashes. I am sold on this conditioner because it's a simple inexpensive product that works well on me.
