Rik,

If you have a cologne listed in the store, but is out of stock (re: Penhaligon LP#9), will you get some back in?

Or is it now you see it now you don't... If you don't get in on it when it is stocked, then you don't get in on it.

BTW- This is a GREAT idea and my compliments to y'all for putting this together.

Brother,

I posted my question 16 days ago and have yet to receive a response. I don't think that many Mods, or folks in general come over to the Decants...

Or maybe my question was just too dumb to answer...

I believe it is a matter of Rik has not been on much in the past few weeks. He is the one who will have to answer your question.

Jim,

The BBDC is not a traditional store, and as such, reorders aren't automatic. If there is something that you'd like to see in the Decant Store, I recommend you nominate it and vote for it during the nomination phase. I apologize for the delay.

TGL,

Unfortunately, due to federal regulations, alcohol based liquids can't be shipped overseas.

Don't apologize, I understand how busy folks can be. No problem, in fact it seems that the Penhaligon LP # 9 is a tough to come by commodity, not only here, but just about everywhere... It MUST be that good.

Thanks for the reply! And I will make my nominations when the time comes.

BTW, LP#9 has been discontinued.

Not good... I am beginning to get a complex... I get into "traditional" shaving, and products that I either research and want to try (Penn #9), or like ( Palmolive Red) are "discontinued"...

Makes one go Hmmmm....

Jed, take a little drive to Charlottesville, theres a place there that sells pretty much anything you want. It's called London's Bathecary (www.shoplondons.com). They may or may not have the LP no9, they did last time I was there. Their website says "temp out of stock" so that leads me to believe they might be getting some more. It's better to see and smell for your self rather than look on the internet, plus they are extremely helpful there.

Whille you're up that way, you can chill out at some of the nice Virginia Wineries and do a few tastings. Barboursville and Afton Mountain are two of my favorites.

AA,
You're a good man. I will take you up on that! I will check the shop out next week, most likely. Do you know of any "similar" shops in the Lexington/VMI area. I have to go there next week also. As far as the wineries go... that may have to wait. My wife and I also enjoy the SR-20 "tour", coming back from C-ville.

I really only know of London's Bathecary from THIS site, apparently one of our esteemed members, Ron, does so much business there, he helps keep their doors open. I've been there a few times as well, my wife and I always go there on our way to camping in Western Va and she always picks me something up for our anniversary or my birthday. I'm afraid there are no shops that have the kind of selection in very many other places other than the internet.

If you are going through Lynchburg to/from Lexington, go to a place called the Texas Tea Room, they aren't a tea room as you would expect, it's a greasy spoon of a diner... awesome.

Another good tip!
We are in Lynchburg often, and I try to stay away from the "Chain" joints. It is actually easier to get things done there, than going up through Brandermill on 360 these days...

Too bad there wasn't a web site like Roadfood.com for shave stuff... Of course if there was, my travel routes may change to "pass" by areas of unique interest.

We should get together for a brew one of these days!

I want to buy any Penhaligons products, either a sample, decant, or regular bottle of any of their colognes. Also, I'm looking to buy any of the Penhaligons shaving cream in any of their scents.

Anyone have any Penhaligons products for sale/trade?

If you want to sample their fragrances, you can always e-mail them directly. Also, you can get a set of 10 samples for $20 - and if you ask about any that aren't included in that sampler, they'll probably throw some samples in. Their customer service is second-to-none, in my experience.

Plus, you'd generally have to beat someone to death to get anything with "Penhaligon's" on it away from them around here.

You can also PM Scotto to see if he is still doing the cologne samples (check the stickied thread in the buy/sell/trade forum for that too.)

EDIT: I just checked the buy/sell/trade forum, and found Scotto's 'samples' thread gone, so methinks he's stopped that programme ... he had stopped the shave cream samples earlier this year, but the cologne samples continued on for a while ... of course he still has his 'decants' programme going, so that may still help get you some cologne! Kudos to Scotto for keeping that labour-intensive programme going as long as he did, when so many new members were coming to B&B!!
