i recently used this aftershave clubman pinad after a good shave and hell !!!
my face was on fire, to such a extend that even a 911 call to the fire department would be useless
guess i am not following the correct technique as how to use this particular aftershave
do i have to dilute it with water or something ?? i used it directly from my hand on my freshly shaved, dry face
please advice

Clubman is menthol-free and loaded w/alcohol. The burn is part of the journey.

It's a good burn, slowly melts away. I actually like the initial sting.

Try clubman bay rum, which has no bay run in it btw. Now that is a WOW.
To bad the scent does not last long.

No, you don't have to. However, sure you can if you want to. Maybe wet your face good.

I use it in rotation with Aqua Velva and Agua Lavanda Puig. It's my least favorite of the three, but still worthy of being in my cabinet, usually for autumn and winter usage.
makes a good cologne, too.

In rotation but only because since my discovery of this site I've been buying several AS and they all get a turn.

Clubman could be my rotation, I love the stuff last all day. Love the scent and yes it is a good indicator of what kind of shave you have had.

What aftershave did you use before this? Or is this your first aftershave?
Some burn more than others.
Yes, Clubman burns, so does Barbasol Pacific Rush (on me), and especially Florida Water (on me).

It should burn for a few seconds, then fade away.
If your a/s keeps burning, it's likely due to having irritated your skin during the shave.

Of my many after shaves Clubman is my favorite. The burn can be intense but only if you've had a particularly irritating shave. Otherwise I find the burn to be comparable to other after shaves.
However, your problems may be rooted not in the quality of your shave, but rather in the sensitivities of your skin. You could be allergic to one or more of the ingredients in the clubman. The citronella springs to mind, but only because it is the most unusual of the ingredients.
Good luck though, I hope you figure it out.

It should sting for a while, but not burn. As noted by others, it sounds like a reaction to razor burn or a sensitivity to one or more of the ingredients, perhaps both. Try diluting it with some unscented witch hazel and see how that works.

Hmmmmmm...never gets burning sensation from Clubman. I think it might have to do more with your shaving technique than aftershaving technique.

I too find Clubman to sting quite a bit -- I rarely use it because of its cloying scent and the lack of menthol. With Aqua Velva, I at least get that cool relief.
There's a little sting to it, yes... used with a morning shave, you could consider it a component of the overall waking up process.
After a particularly rough shave I've had to go for a 2nd application of ASB over top to settle things down.

I'm a Clubman Fanatic as well and the burn is part of it. However it shoud fade within a minute or two and heal razorburn. If its burning that long you are having rough shaves that are taking off too much skin. Too much pressure on the razor or a blade issue probably. Try letting the head of the razor flow through on its own weight while using the balance point of the handle in your hand, and no pressure. Even with the burn the AS is meant to heal and soothe the face.

For me, if I have irritated skin, it stings and burns like wildfire, for about a minute. If my skin is normal, it's only a slight glowing burn, for a few seconds.

I agree with the Bay Rum recommendation. Splash on some of that and you'll have the true benchmark for face burn. I don't really get too much with the Clubman. But every degree of burn is worth it for that fantastic Clubman scent.

I like the burn, I think Bay Rum might have a little more burn then the others.
