Pretty slick looking all-in-one unit. What was the cost?
Worked out to about $70 shipped. That's wholesale though. Not sure what the street price on them is.

Looks pretty good. There was lots of discussion on a very similar looking setup in the Darkroom section. Should be perfect for taking pictures of small items like what you make. Good find.

Just found a ton on ebay for $64 shipped.

This is a really good price.
Actually if you scroll down to the bottom of this page:
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsmile701QQhtZ-1
you'll se them for $39 + $15 shipping. I just cancelled my original order and picked up one of these. $54.00 shipped is pretty good.
Just a quick follow up,

Eric,
Question about voltage set up. I assume it is 110v or is adjustable to 240v.
I would like to get one of these set ups, but am decided by voltage ultimately. Apart from that how is it?
Thanks
John
Yup, it's a 110 setup.
I'm very happy with the overall quality for the money. Nice sturdy material.

Thanks for the quick reply Eric,
Bummer, now I have to really think is it worth the value without the lights?

ha ha ha ....
i was really serious about the that...if it is big enough or not...
I have hats for sale and clothes that would look better photographed with this type of setup...
as a side note, if I had one like the one Randy told me about earlier with an online dealership...now that ould be awesome...

It's basically a 16" x 16" space you've got to work with. Might be a little small for a hat but I'm not positive.

I came across this article about how to make a $10 light box the other day.
http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html
I'm hoping to get some time to build one this weekend. I'm very new to using an SLR and I don't have a flash yet. The article says you can just use natural light.
Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Dan:
Here's (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=11746) another thread about the same principle. I built one of these with a box I had in my garage, used paper towels to cover the openings, taped two pieces of printer paper together for my background, and was out $0.00. I just use one tall desk lamp shining through the top and a couple of pivoting mirrors to direct light back where I want it. I use it frequently for my SOTD pix. Good luck

I've made a box like that. It works really well. However, I couldn't find a place to store it without ripping the tissue paper every time. I replaced it with a light tent that I bought on ebay for $40.

As long as the wiring can handle 240V, and there's no electronics in the lamps, you should just be able to switch the bulbs to 240V-rated bulbs to use the whole setup.

Chris Hi,
Just for an update, I bought a new light box from a local photography shop here minus lamps. I then bought a couple of small desk lamps with 5000k natural light lamps for it.
I am soon to put this together to see how I go with it all.
Cheers

You guys are killing me . . . and my budget. Ordered the AR SIB-100 at Amazon (actually comes from 47th St., so no free shipping). $72.90. We shall see what we shall see.
Great thread.
