The title says it all. I am just trying to figure out the difference between the two colours if there is anything beyond the package. Thanks!

There is definitley a difference between the two blades. I have tried both and find that the yellows give a smoother shave.

I have been told that the Yellows are made in Russia and the Blacks are made in India and the Yellows blades are coated while the Blacks are not.

There is no difference other than packaging. The packaging is different because the blades were to be sold in different markets.

+1

I thought the same thing. Everytime i ordered a 5 pack it came black a 10 pack came yellow. I thought that was the only differance. Since they both say hi stainless on both of them

Does anyone have actual information about whether they are made in Japan, Russia or India? I have only used the Yellow ones, and they are great, but I want to make a big purchase (100 or so) and want to make sure I am getting the best baldes!

Are you thinking of 7 o'clocks?

I looked at my actual blade last night and it says "made in Japan" right on it! Case closed!

There are two varieties of Feather blades and both are made in Japan.

The confusion on the Yellow and Black is for the Gillette 7 O'Clock brands.

The blacks are a 5 blade pack, whereas the yellow are 10 blade pack. Both say Platinum coated Hi-Stainless.

I seem to feel that the black gives me one shave less than the yellow. Ofcourse it may just be my imagination !!

Both are priced the same, in fact the black is a bit expensive for the packaging as there are only 5 blades in the plastic tuck, compared to 10 in the yellow.

Attached some photographs for the bulk pack of 100 / 200 blades
