Those are both awesome! I'm one of like 12 dudes that tried to read Twilight. Gave up about 1/3 of the way through. Gotta agree with my man, Stephen King, when he said that Stephanie Myers "can't write worth a darn".

If that story was true, I have lost all faith in humanity. And I think I'm going to vomit.

There's nothing better than Roger Ebert's reviews of the Twilight movies. I feel bad that the guy is forced to sit through that drivel as part of his job, but I suspect that he takes more than a little pleasure in skewering them.

To quote Southpark, “Every time a little girl’s ginie tingles, Disney makes money.”[In reference to explaining why the Jonas Brothers are so popular.]
The books and movies cater to the lowest common denominator of most young/tween girls; simplistic romance. Toss in the supernatural (which is widely popular these days) and boom, instant millions at the box office.

That was a very good review, indeed. Link. (http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081119/REVIEWS/811199997/1023)
Oh, and if you've not yet seen it, there is a Twilight SPOOF coming out in theaters soon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu3XujXdHmU

I think this was originally posted in the soccer thread:
The Twilight series is like soccer. They run around for 2 hours, nobody scores, and its billion fans insist you just don't understand.
