Up for your consideration is this custom Amboyna Burl Merkur 34G from Bob Quinn at eliterazor.com. It is in excellent condition, as I baby all of my razors and wash/dry them completely after each shave. This razor is currently offered on eliterazor.com for around $80 before shipping.
As such, I would like to trade it for preferably an excellent condition Fat Boy (uncased) or Muhle R89. I'm open really, as long as offers are consistent with the condition and value of this razor. I suppose also, if no one is interested in a trade, I'll let it go for $55 SHIPPED CONUS ONLY.
There is one thing that does not show in the pics that interested parties should be aware of; this razor does not have a high gloss finish as you will see on the razors at Bob's site. It's closer to satin, I would say, but it never bothered me because I imagined that it offered a better grip than a glossy finish. If this bothers anyone, Bob Quinn says the luster can be heightened with Renaissance Wax.
And one final caveat - trades make me nervous, and so I must insist that any interested party will send me their half of the trade first. I truly don't mean to sound so mistrusting of human nature, but I've been burned in the past on transactions of this sort. I promise you that I will get this razor in the mail the very day, if not the day after, that I receive my part of the trade.
With all that said, here are the pics. Offer away!
******My God! The burl looks really washed out in these pics! I can assure you, it's very dark and rich looking. I apologize for the limitations of my cheap digital camera.*******
