Great shave this morning with the Crown Jewel and the AV Ice Blue felt great. Yesterday was 103F and today is going to be even hotter. :w00t: (I'm working in the sun building a gazebo on my patio and it's murder out there!) Love the scent of the Musgo Real and it lathers like a champ. Not sure how to describe the scent except to say it's pleasant and familiar. (Don't know where I've smelled it before maybe my Dad used it.) At any rate, it's a keeper IMHO. Have a great deay Gents and stay cool! :thumbup1:

Good shave, with a bit of roughness, because of the edge of the Henckels that's almost the factory edge with a bit of CrOx,.... Anyway I have finally cooled with a good splash of "France de Molinard "

Yesterday and today was the first time that I've tried a Feather blade on a Mühle R89. My dear friends, what a blade!
Close and smooth shave, zero cuts and no irritation at all!
Magnífico!
I think this is the closest shave that I got, so far.
I've been using DE safety razors for about 2 months or so, I'm still on my learning curve. But I think that I've managed to "tame" the Feather!

After a few days of shaving with an injector and getting decent shaves without much effort, I still thought DE's were better than Single Edges, and straights were better than both. After trying the GEM Featherweight today, I must say I don't think I've ever had a better shave. It also took no effort! I might be selling off everything else I own if the shaves keep up like this.

As always, nice SOTD! Have you tried Osage Rub? If so, how would you compare it to Alcolado? Which is colder?
They're on par IMO. I may give a slight edge to the Osage. The AG has a more appealing scent though. Can't go wrong with either one though!

I got my first bottle of Alt-Innsbruck in the mail today, so I OBVIOUSLY had to go take a shave! (Actually, I've been waiting 2 days for it).
Anyway, today consisted of:
Wash with Musgo real lime Glyce soap
Proraso pre-shave cream
Feather Popular with Feather blade
Penworks silvertip badger
MWF
Alt-Innsbruck AS.
I had a couple of days' growth, so I took a good 4 passes. Sometime in there, my daughter wiggled her way into the bathroom to watch and help. ;) I got distracted and forgot my alum! Anyway, that Innsbruck is something else! Holy COW! Comes out a little fast, but I had been warned about that. The scent is really pleasant, and the menthol had me smiling for a couple of hours. I don't know what all is in it, but my face is feeling really nice even several hours later. Definitely a fortunate blind purchase, and one that I'll happily repeat when it gets low!

Sorry there's no pics but I just had my shave of the day - my first with a straight razor! I used the beautiful solingen that I recently got and it was wonderful! No cuts! I was flippin out that I was going to slit my throat or something but other than a little razor burn I am golden! I went over my face with my schick razor afterward to see if it picked up anything more than the straight and there was absolutely no hair in the cream at all! I am VERY happy with my first shave and am looking forward to many more in the future. It really makes me wish I could afford a nicer razor and the rest of the kit! The blade was the only thing appropriate for the shave... The cream was (for the faint in heart, do not continue reading!) gillette gel Tahitian Noni shave gel and I used Tahitian Noni aftershave. Sorry, no scratch for a proper brush quite yet, as a student with a wife and 2 kids there are higher priorities than my facial hair...

The SOC brush is coming along, with some of the hairs already splitting at the ends. I'm still soaking it for about 15 minutes prior to shaving, which I'm sure is helping it to break.
The combination of the rose scented Harris products is very nice, especially when coupled with Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet Edt :D

My first use of the TOBS Shaving Cream and I must say it is a step or two above what I have used in the past! This SC will definitely be part of my rotation from now on. Great Sunday morning shave with the Greaves, TOBS Shaving Cream served up warm and soothing in a scuttle. An occasion like this demands a cologne like British Sterling. Two, two, two shaves in one! Well, not on my face, but Spawn (11 yo daughter) had gotten frustrated with the electric that SWMBO had started her out on, and wanted me to teach her how to use a blade razor. After checking that SWMBO was alright with this, we retired to the bathroom for a shave clinic
Spawn used:
Schick® Quattro for Women® disposable
Speick shave stick (her choice out of my soaps and SWMBO's KMF lavender and shea butter)
Penworks silvertip badger brush
Over all, she did a fine job. Took a long time (compared to my face) but no nicks and an acceptable shave. I may have lost my Speick stick.
I used:
Irisch Moos shave stick
Penworks silvertip badger brush
Feather Popular with a Feather blade
alum
Pinaud Lilac Vegetal
Ow, ow, ow. I could not seem to get the lather from the IM wet enough. IT was weak and tacky (or wet and soggy) and I could tell that I was getting a little burn. :thumbdown Then again, I was a little frazzled after the shave clinic, so I might have been off of my game. Four weepers, which is a record of sorts.
OVer-all, not a good shave, but a worthy time spent with my daughter.

Nice SOTD. I like how the brush and razor are in focus, while the Proraso is not.
