I just got off the phone with Target's corporate office to confirm this, after seeing a mention on SMF from a fellow who happens to work at a Target regional distribution center. Proraso "creams and razors" will be available at Target stores nationwide starting March 8-15 (depending on region).

Holy Effing Cow. :a50:

That's great...something I've been wanting to try and now it's going to be quite literally down the street from me! Hopefully California is in one of the regions. Thanks for the news.

Hmmm. I really hope it isn't just the canned foam version of Proraso; I've been meaning to try it for quite awhile.

That's grrrreat! I purchased Proraso from Barclay & Crocker, Sesto Senso, Qedusa, and found it At Bigelow's in NYC. The soap is wondeful on the skin with the eucalyptus oil and all. Also the pre-post shave cream is great, the aftershave balm is good, while the aftershave splash is an excellent toner.
I live in Michigan, and I wonder if they will distribute it here. I don't know too many brush shavers. Another excellent Italian line of shaving products is Helena"s Vetiver & Rum. There's no Vetiver or Rum in it, but the EDT and Aftersahve balm are fantastic! Caswell-Massey & Sesto Sendo used to carry it, but they no longer do. Vetiver & Rum also has an almond scented shave cream that does not lather well, along with soap, talc, and spray deodorant.
It's unfortunate that we live in a hectic society that wants everything yesterday, and won't bother to take the time to indulge in a shave. I've introduced 2-3 of my friends to brush shaving and they love it, though 1 has a problem finding a compatable shave soap.

I should probably ask a mod to move this to the General forum.... Proraso appeared in my local, 100-miles-from-anywhere, Target this morning. They not only had the shaving cream, but the shaving soap, pre/post, aftershave, and a halfway-decent-lookin boar brush as well! No one was more suprised than I.... :w00t: A kid was still stocking it when I snatched a few items, including two of the three shaving soaps that were on the shelf. I said to the kid "I hope I'm not clearing out your stock on the first day." and he remarked "naw, there's more in the back." :thumbup1:

I hope they stock the pre/post, crema liquida, and especially the a/s splash, which I can't seem to find locally. I'm guessing that they'll only have the green tube, which I don't care for.

Good news for the OK City folks.

Target in Midwest City off of I-40 has Proraso in stock.:thumbup1:

5.2 oz tubes, soap, pre-shave cream, after-shave cream.

They also stock some Sharp's products and a few I haven't heard of (Caldo?)

Target in Midvale, Utah, at their Ft. Union location was nicely stocked. Proraso Shaving Soap, Pre-Shave Balm, After Shave and canned Goo. I wanted the A/S splash. I was at a SuperCenter. Has anyone found any of the Prorarso products at a regular Target?

The Target in Roanoke, VA has Proraso Shave Cream Tube, Soap, Pre-Shave, Liquid Cream After-Shave, and Brushes.:001_rolle

This Target is a regular store, not a Supercenter.

The Proraso was located in an special area with other high-end toiletries for men and women with a sign "Spa".

Good Prices!!.

The Target in San Marcos, Texas has the shave cream tube, soap, pre-shave, & aftershave liquid cream. It is located in a small shaving section in the cosmetics aisles. The Target on Mopac & Ben White in Austin, Texas also has the same.

Howdy Kyle,
And they said San Marcos wasn't in the competition for shaving mecca of Central Texas!:001_smile Our Main St. and 24th Ave N.W. store in Norman has a similar stock. They were out of Proraso shaving foam, but also had the Proraso Professional Shaving brush for $12.99 + tax. There is another, pricier line of Italian-made mens shaving gear too, but I was unfamiliar with the name which I promptly forgot as their shaving cream appeared to be brushless.:thumbdown

I checked the Atlantic Ave. Target in Brooklyn a few days ago to no avail, but that was before I saw the posts about the spa/fragrance aisle. It looks like Target is starting up an upper-end shaving section. They have Proraso soap, green tube cream, pre/post cream, canned cream, and A/S liquid cream. They also have a brand called Caldo, with a line of shaving products, including a razor-brush-stand set. I think Caldo is a house brand ("Distributed by Target" labels on the bottom). I didn't get any of their creams and such, since they all contained alcohol.

I picked up the set though. The brush is on the low end of so-so; not very dense, with kind of stringy bristles, but the handle looks nice. The razor takes Mach3's and has a matching handle, but the head screws out, so I'm hoping I might be able to find a DE head to replace it. The stand is chrome.

Really, I was just happy to see something other than just Gillette/Schick/Bic in a discount store. Go Target!

Hey Ron,

We still travel by horse and buggy, but there are a few of us who have started to shave with our weekly baths.

I too saw the other Italian brand cream while picking up the full line of Proraso products as a gift for my dad (he will be traveling down from the Sooner state to pay me a visit next week). I almost bought some but decided to wait as I'm only a couple of shaves into my own new Proraso stock.

Many years ago when SWMBO and I lived in San Antonio, we traveled to Aquarena Springs for some amusement. One thing stuck in my mind, $1.05. Everytime you turned around you had to pay $1.05 for something or other. So, I can see why horse and buggy may be more popular. I had to pay $1.00 for parking my motorcycle + .05 state sales tax (That was about 30 years ago when a dollar made more cents). Do they getcha' at the hitchin' rack?:ihih:
What is really surprising is, that with the proximity of San Marcos to Austin and thereby a certain retailer who shall remain unamed, that Target was permitted to even market wet shaving shaving products..

Interestingly enough, two weeks before Target began carrying the Proraso products, I was in the gentleman's store and he spoke very poorly of the Proraso line (among others). I don't, however, hold any grudges. He has his opinion and I have mine. I have made a few purchases from him and during my last visit he was kind enough to give me a free pack of Derby's (which are now my favorite blades).

Guys, I think I saw the new formation of Proraso in one of our drugstores here in Montreal. Both the tube and the bowl are darker green. And the labelling is a bit different. Apparently, the product is still the same great quality.

No sighting yet again in the Hudson Valley, NY. It does look like they are revamping the "spa" area, so perhaps there is hope.

Actually, I don't care for mentholated products, but it would be nice to have local stores carrying this sort of stuff anyway.

It's here in SacTown California...went in with the wife and kids and saw it in their high-end/spa section. Pretty much like everywhere else though, no A/S Splash. They had the tube, the pre/post, A/S Balm, tub cream and the Proraso/Omega silver brush. Not bad for a Target. Picked up the pre/post and a tube and can not wait to give them try!

Gents,

Proraso has made it here to hagerspatch, err, hagerstown,md. I love the scent of the cream, and the size and heft of the brush. However, the SMELL  was about all I could bear. I bet I know where on the boar they harvest the hairs.

It's been about a week and after 2 soakings with classicshaving brush cleaner. the "stench" is gone. :thumbup1:

I find myself using the boar rather than my silvertip- either way, i continue to get that bbs shave(vision, israeli blades, and soap from st charles shave).

enjoying my visit to this site.

Check in the high-end spa section, away from the manly shaving stuff and more towards the lipstick. At least that is where I found it in California.

Ron,

it's not in the shave aisle-you have to go up front where the women's make up is located and its 1 aisle over from there.

in fact, they have it in a so- called spa section;easy to miss, but it's there.

Ditto on the above statements. We have Proraso here in Baton Rouge as well. But the Higher end shave stuff was no where near the gillette section. As a matter of fact it was right next to some feminine products. Go figure:confused:

I am not really sure how to use a shaving cream in a tube apparently. I tried putting a dab in a bowl and swirling, but it looked like a soap lather. I resorted to putting it on the brush and lathering on my face. Seems like the stuff needs more cream for the same amount of lather in british stuff. But that's ok because it's less than half the price.

At the Target here in Madison, WI they had the cream, pre/post, and one other item.

I found Proraso soap, cream in a tube, brushes, pre and post shave cream, and shaving balm at my local Target, in the "luxury" section of the, .men's cosmetics department, not in the mens shaving isle. The prices were below those online.

Yessir,

I stocked up over the weekend. The "soap" (which is really a dense cream) was in a smaller "disk" and does not contain lanolin like the products that are currently on my shelves. The tube cream is the same size we all know and love, but again, lanolin was not listed on the ingredients. I'm sure it will shave just fine, but I haven't tried it as of yet.

The pre/post is the same (formulation) as is the A/S cream. Prices were excellent!

$7.95 for the pre/post plus and additional 10% off that!

Finally found Proraso products at a Target near my neck of the woods at 14 mile and John R in Madison Heights Michigan. I bought the shave soap $3.99 and the shave cream in a tube for $5.99. The pre-post shave is $7.99-the cheapest I've seen so far. The packaging is s slightly darker green compared to the kelly green we are used to with Proraso.

Personally, I can't stand the menthol scent, but I've been using the pre/post a lot lately. Maybe I'm just proud to have (semi) mastered its rather difficult application learning curve, or perhaps I'm just getting used to the scent. I also enjoy the crema liquida, as the scent of that product is the most benign of their product line.
