B&B CONFIDENTIAL - #3

http://badgerandblade.com/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=19637

Hello B&B'ers and welcome to the B&B Confidential. This is a feature where you can read articles about what is going on in and around Badger & Blade. For our third installment we present you with:

"B&B Du Jour"

The members here at B&B are an eclectic bunch, to say the least. We pursue many passions aside from wet-shaving, and this is evident in the many posts everyday. Here at B&B we have many threads dedicated to our members' daily use of products related to Shaving, Eating, Drinking, Smoking and Brewing. We even have a thread dedicated to Acquisitions wherein our members share their excitement over recently acquired goods with the rest of the board.

Starting out with the reason we all came here in the first place, a great shave, we have the now-fabled Shave of the Day thread. Every day you can read about (as well as view) products from all over the world being used by our members. When people say that they read the SOTD just for the articles we know they just look at the pictures.

Not only will you find some impressive set-ups in the shave of the day; you will also find some equally impressive photography. :thumbup1:

:badger: of The Day

Here is a brief look at a few of them-

The Great Grand daddy of all these threads is the Shave of The Day (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=10)-

Here you can find what your brother members are enjoying in their daily shaves. Their aftershave and EDT choices-You may find some great photos as well.

In the Fragrance forum (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=9) you can find the newest of the "Of the day" threads, Fragrance of the day (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?p=2185167#post2185167)

In the Mess Hall (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=98)we have several "Of The Day" threads-

What's For Breakfast (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=146896)thread, a great start to the day-

The Thin Blue Smoke thread (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=125288)
Our fire breathing brethren post some of their low and slow creations.
Tips and tricks are freely shared, word is they even help out the gassers!

Our next stop is the Haberdashery (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=99) forum. The serious B&B Horologists (and not so serious) all gather at the Watch ya wearing (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=76104) thread.

You will more than likely meet "father time" himself, Austin, in this thread.

http://badgerandblade.com/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=15900

Lets head over to the B&B Café' (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=89)and see whats brewing.

SOTD... Shave of the day? No, Sheng of the Day (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=59712)! This Methuselah of a thread is where all the Pu'er fans gather and share their thoughts about this aged tea from the high mountains of China.

http://badgerandblade.com/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=15158

BOTD -Black of The Day (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=111691)is for the Black tea fans

OOTD or Oolong of The Day (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=84515) is a thread about this most popular tea.

GOTD or Green of The Day (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=111520) is the green tea drinkers' stop.

Whats brewing (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=143227)is the thread where all the coffee junkies and espresso heads are to be found posting up their shots and brewing secrets.

Moving on now to the Speakeasy (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=58) forum. Here you can find our IOTN or Indulgence of the night (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=135772) thread. The members share drinks and an occasional Cigar or pipe.

And after all the drinks, smokes and meals it's time for a workout in the Clubhouse (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=100)-in the "What's your workout today?" (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=137912)thread

So there you have it, a post for everyone- But we always have room for more!

This makes for a very full day. B&B has broadened the horizons for a lot of us, much to the irritation of our wallets and wives.

+1. My fiance thought B&B would just cause me to spend more money on shaving. Little did she know that it would renew my interest in BBQ and put me on a quest to brew the perfect cup of tea/coffee.

Another great Confidential, thanks Jim.

B&B is currently helping me broaden my Tea horizons, I was Pifed a green tea sampler and will be buying more samples of different teas. Also, B&B helps to relax me when life is stressful.

If I stay around this place indefinitely I am going to wind up with 50 razors and weigh 300 pounds! Or 300 razors and weigh 50 pounds because I will have to stop eating to pay the bills.

But I'll fess up and admit that I hated shaving, the results, and the discomfort for 40 years and you folks have sure turned me into an avid shaver.

I come from the most humble of beginnings, the son of a confirmed electric razor shaver. The irony of me becoming a straight razor shaver is something I still can't believe.

Wow, pretty astounding. I kinda knew but didn't know or appreciate the vastness of our "of the day threads" until I saw the full portfolio in this edition of the Confidential. Nice work folks on the article and of course nice work to all those who contribute to all these daily threads.

Nice Post!

You forgot the homebrewing of high-test beer.....a couple of nice purchases in that realm made that "$100 knot of rodent hair" that I use every day (as opposed to 0-4 times per month) seem a value!

Aye to all the above. I was haunting the wet shaver forums before B&B came along. I really didn't need to join another. However, in time it became clear to me this was the premiere group for wet shaving nirvana. The ancillary benefits of discussing attire, food, drink, etiquette and manners have all contributed to me being a better gentleman. I mean that. I was lucky enough to be raised by parents who taught me the importance of faith, manners, and other necessities of life but B&B has helped me to refine these immensely. After seeing the abominable way people are spoken too on various forums I have visited, I can assure you B&B occupies a niche not seen much on the web; grown up conversation. Thank you to all who participate.

Regards, Todd
