I currently have a 1k hone, a 5k hone and a 12k hone along with a balsa strop and a leather strop. From what I can gather reading about Barbers hones, they are used to give a razor a touch up in between full hones. From what I can gather, none of the hones I have are suitable for that. I could be wrong but I think a Barbers hone is around 8k.
Any advise or comments greatly appreciated.

I'd say that you already have everything you need and that a barbers hone isn't going to add anything.

The 12K should give you what you need. You don't need a barber hone. Most don't use them.

You do not need one, you certainly don't. You have a nice setup there!
But, you might want one :biggrin1:

Thank you for the quick replies. I'll put my purchase on hold and use my spending money more wisely.

I keep my big hones downstairs in the workshop. I keep a barbers hone in the bathroom for quick touch-ups. It's handy to have it right there, throw some lather on it and give a blade a few swipes when it's starting to pull.

Same here.
You already have a nice set up John! I'm a bit late to answer the question but your 12k is indeed enough.
You can use the 12k as a barber hone.
