I started shaving with a DE in the early 60's. It was my Dad's razor - a gold Gillette. Over the years I've used them all (except a straight razor) DE, Injector, cartridge, electric and multiblade razors.
I recently read an article about DE shaving and decided to return to my shaving roots. Why not? I've done it before and - according to the article - it will be cheaper. The first part (returning to my shaving roots) was correct but the second part (it will be cheaper) didn't turn out as planned.
After finding Badger & Blade on the internet I realized that a razor, blade and foam in a can wasn't enough. I now (after 2 months) have 4 razors, 4 brushes, sample packs of blades. Geo. F. Trumpers sample pack, Ogallala Bay Rum sample pack and untold numbers of creams, soaps, aftershaves, colognes, alum blocks, styptic pencils, etc., etc., etc.
Seriously it's been a lot of fun and I even have my oldest son sharing the DE excitment with me. When my son and I get together my wife (of 41 years) says, "No more shaving talk". So I guess I should shut up.
