What I have learned so far.
1.I skipped the preshave oil yesterday to see what difference it does actually make and I think I need to find a place I can buy this stuff in bulk because it makes a big differnce in the shave for me.This morning I reapplied it after each round and that is the way to go for me but this stuff is expensive.
2.dry my hands after each round, the razor gets slippery if I do not.
3.I take a long time to shave,I am averaging 40 minutes and my lather is getting cold and I don't like that. So,I need to buy something to help and I have picked out a scuttle at dirty bird pottery but I do not know if I need the 1.5 or the regular one.
4.The feather blade is sharp and works very nicely,I would like the most expensive blade
5.Truefitt and Hill ultimate comfort cream is the best I have used so far and the Lavender smells the best,I wish they would combine the two
6.Gentlemens best AS aftershave stings like a son of a gun when you put it on but is is very cooling and will even make your hands cold

Ah yes the 60ml bottle. I work about a half hour walk away from the shop in London so thankfully can just go and browse

Sounds like it's coming right along.

I have a DB 1.5, and it's been great.

As for expensive blades -- if that's your criteria, you can easily pay 1-2 bucks per blade for vintage Gillette Super Stainless (or Platinum Plus) and Schick Plus Platinums. For my part, leave the cost of the blade aside and try and find current-production blades you like. If you're liking feathers, it's hard to go wrong by them.

... and I share your appreciation of T&H cream -- it's wonderful, ain't it? Myself, I fall to 1805, but there are so many marvelous choices, there.

I have a DB 1.5 and it has worked fantastically well for me. I like some room to work while i'm lathering, 1.5 seems right... For me anyway!

Ok that is enough recommendations for the 1.5 ordering the blue one now.I figure it will last forever unless I drop it.

6.Gentlemens best AS aftershave stings like a son of a gun when you put it on but is is very cooling and will even make your hands coldThe sting of alcohol is the feedback on technique. It tells me every morning where I've used too much pressure.

Gotta love the chill on it though!

Then again, a Feather can be rough on the face to start with. How does your face feel an hour after the shave?

Blue,
My face feels great an hour after I shave but right after I shave it feels sensitive until I get the razor rock, witch hazel, face food, tea tree moisturizer and after shave and after all of that I am good to go.

Thanks again for the recommendation on the after shave,it does work great
