It has been 2 weeks since I first started wet shaving. So far I have:
-Cut myself.
-Couldn't make a lather from soap if my life depended on it.
-Purchased WAY too many shaving related items e.g. - soaps, razors, brushes, a.s. etc. (not a bad thing at all :biggrin1:)
-Wished that I could shave more than once a day (I think most of us are guilty of this)
-Building a second medicine cabinet for my new found hobby!
-Trying to get my friends on the Wet Shaving wagon.
-Owe a HUGE thank you to the wealth of knowledge on this here forum and to the members who made it all possible.
I will say this: no matter the good and bad that have come from Wet Shaving, I am in for life. The cuts will heal, my technique will improve and my den will grow as time goes by.
Thank you!
That's how it starts...

Great attitude and dead-on!! I (and many others) worried too much and over analized everything early on. Enjoy the journey and all your shaves! )

Ditto.
Welcome to the dysfunction. Wait until you are dealing with 3-4 wet shaving ADs all at once.
I am so glad SWMBO is the one balancing the checkbook, my self-control in this regard is....less than perfect.

+1.
I wonder what it is that makes this addictive. I know have more razors, brushes, blades, and creams that I ever thought possible. :w00t:

aaaand I also read no stropping :)
As for lather with soap, I had that problem at first. I used wayyy too much water in my brush. I switched to creams for a while, and have recently come back to soaps and found that after a year or two with creams, my general lather-forming technique has improved and I can get pretty good lather with soaps, too.
