I am new to this site and new to the whole wet shaving thin
Truth be told I have always been intrigued by it and am lookinag forward to increasing the quality of my shave. I bought a starter kit from Von maur made by the art of shaving and I love it. I have been thinking a lot lately about going to DE however I got caught up in the proglide hubbub, and never have I had worse razor burn.

I guess my question is where can I go locally to look at DE razors before I buy I want to make sure it is quality. I don't have an abundance of money laying around so I can't buy multiple razors so I want to make surebhas good hand feel. I live in des Moines IA anybody know of any shops that I can go see DE. THANKS

I don't think I saw a thread for your town specifically. Someone who lives close to you should be able to advise. Other than that, look at the reviews, it should give you an idea.

There were millions of Gillette double-edge razors made and sold all over the USA. In your home town, there are antique malls and estate sales bursting with old DE razors. All you need is one which works.

I'd be willing to bet that you could just ask around among relatives and friends. You would discover that people will give you old razors and shaving accessories.

Of course, there is always the Buy/Sell/Trade forum here on B & B. Heck, I will gladly sell you a Gillette Red Tip for peanuts if you can't find one locally. Just ask. You will find.
