i bought some essential oils from ebay, as well as a bunch of NEW and NEW STANDARD gillette razors. I'm still waiting on lots of stuff to arrive, namely a NETI Pot, atkinsons lavender, 'the third man' by caron, more as I get it.

St. Charles Shave Savory Rose Shaving Soap with Bowl

I wonder how the Buttercreme compares to CAR A/S Moisture Cream? what do you think of the Savory Rose scent? How does it perform? Also, How's the Baron EDT? Thanks.

I've been thinking about picking some of these items up. Looking forward to some thoughts and comments from good ol' Rik.

Greetings RR,

Once I receive my SCS shipment I'll be able to do a direct comparison since today I received:

Simpsons Persian Jar #2 Silver Tip Brush
CAR Peppermint A/S Moisture Cream

I'll give a full report on the other items. I have no doubt the soap will perform exceedingly well based on her other products.

Randy, I've tried at least 5 times to get my brother-in-law to join our group. He's too shy by nature. In person, he's a great, great guy.

I got my first order from Sue at Saint Charles Shave today. Almond shave soap, Rose shave soap, New Spice cologne, buttercream, and a couple of samples (spa butter and a new scent from Sue).

The soaps are incredibly fragrant. The almond might be the most intense almond scent out there. I can't wait to see how they shave.

Sean,
A great deal depends upon the quality of the blade.. Have you purchased any particular brand?

I don't know if they are available in your area, but I bought a magazine of American Safety Razor platinum-coated chrome steel blades that seem to be very effective. Not sure what they market down there in Baja OK..:lol1:
The only gripe I had was that the magazine did not align quite correctly when the key was inserted into the razor. A slight twist of the combo produced adequate alignment for me to insert the blade without bunging-up the blade, razor, or myself.
Just rermember, an injector is a different beast than a double edge, slightly different touch (teeny bit more force) and significantly different angle. Good luck and enjoy. If you can not find any blades to your liking, let me know and I'll send you a magazine-full of ASR's for you to test out.

Minor score today. Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel and Tom's of Maine Apricot toothpaste. My sister and niece are coming by tomorrow, and they are super-vegans. I had to head to the natural food store to get them some food, and couldn't resist browsing the toiletries section while I was there.

I concur. The Thayer's witch hazels seem to have just the right amount of aloe to go on easily and put out the fire. It's usually the first thing to touch my face after the cold water splash. At around 8-9 semolians, it's a lot more than the drugstore brands or Wilkinson's, but even then it's an absolute steal for the job it does. Both the rose and lavender are nice light fragrances.

I wouldn't mind hearing your evaluation after having used the Rose Petal Witch Hazel.

I find it to perform the same as the unscented version. It seems to work well as a toner, but I always pop something on top of it like Will G's ASB, Proraso, or Naturade Aloe. Scent-wise, it is in the same vein as Coral Skin Food, Taylor's Rose cream, etc., but lighter. Doesn't stay around. Also, the witch hazel smell doesn't come through. On the unscented version, the witch hazel is detectable, but not overbearing like it is with Dickenson's
