I'm sure that most of you wouldn't, but with as much as yardley's is hyped up, it would be easy to see a noob jumping at the chance for yardley's at a bargain (bargain that is compared to the outrageous prices it usually goes for). This is the second time this one has been posted, the seller tries to make it sound like yardley's soap, but puts some verbiage in there that gives him an out if someone were to complain that it isn't yardley's.

I saw this ad up on ebay a few weeks ago, the ad copy is pretty straight up about it not being Yardley soap:
It still has the original old soap bar. It is marked but hard to make it all out. From what I can tell it might say Colgate something.
I don't think the seller is trying to be dishonest, just clueless as to the history of Yardley soap.
I was watching a few Yardley's this week, and they went for way less than I was expecting. There was a NOS Yardley that I believe went for around $30.

This gem gets reposted every week or so on the San Fran craigslist for more than a couple months now. I get a bit of stomach churn every time it comes up....

You may be right I suppose. I was looking at the "still has the original old soap".

I think I know what you mean - I saw the yardley's above less than a minute after it was posted. I was refreshing the page every other minute or so as I was following a workout circuit online. It popped up and I couldn't click on it fast enough only to find out I've seen it before and it definitely isn't yardley's.

Well I've been looking to buy a knackered Yardley bowl and a couple of rusty old doorknobs for a while now. Thanks for the link.
