Every time I shave I get a couple of tiny blood spots on my chin near the about an inch from the corner of my mouth. I don't know if the blood capillaries are espcially shallow there and one swipe with a Kleenex and its gone. The beard in that part of my chin/jaw area is especially tough. I'm preparing the beard with a hot, wet towel for 2 minutes and then applying proraso before I put the blade to it. Any suggestions?

I have spots like that on the upper lip. Very hard course whiskers. I don't have a suggestion for you....but I'll tell you what I do. First I do one pass with a low angle, then a second pass at a higher angle. If that doesn't get rid of the stubble I return, 10 min after shaving and when my face is dry and shave the section again. I find that the dry whiskers catch on the blade really easily and it shaves BBS instantly. Unfortunately, I can't recommend shaving dry, ever with a straight for safety reasons. But I have told you what I do. As you can imagine, I have to be very careful. But it works really well. Maybe its the outer couticule of the whisker thats dry only, but man like I said BBS instantly.

Richard, what razor and blade are you using?
The pre-existing cut is probably re-opened with every shave. Have you tried not shaving (that area at least) for a few days?
I also suspect a skin contour that your razor is exploiting ... perhaps shave at a different angle and try for more skin pulling/tightening??

I am using a Schick excel 3 disposable. I just bought my first DOVO and it I'm waiting to get it back from being sharpened before I start using it. I'll give the 10 minute wait/dry shave a try. Thanks!
