I've tried every brand in my WCS sampler pack and every one of them tugged on the hairs near my chin, located outside and under my lips. Having just tried the Feather I no longer think it could be a blade issue (for the record, the feather pulled the worst, painfully so) and I think it might either be a change in grain direction (I doubt all ATG passes would tug that much though) or my technique, has anyone overcome similar troubles?

If a Feather is pulling, I have to say its your angles. Try watching yourself at an angle in the mirror instead of having the razor pointed right at at the mirror.

Remember, beard reduction, are you completing a with the grain and across before the ATG. Also tightening the skin by making faces might help.

I have yet to attempt an ATG pass, and I make faces (mostly to avoid shaving on the jaw line)

So, It is tugging on the first pass. What razor are you using if I may ask?

I have issues with other blades pulling but never my Feather Platinums... Your blade angle is the most important factor with no pressure. Like Grump said you are using blade reduction not removal. Using this you will only remove so much hair at a time therefore you won't pull the hair. Are you cutting yourself at all?

only on my very last shave, using the feather, and that was just 2 beads of blood

Are you applying any pressure at all?
