Does anyone know if the new iPhone 4 will still be on AT&T. I have the 3GS and might get the new one, but want to stay with AT&T

Yes, it will remain with AT&T.
Not only will it remain with AT&T... it will be available ONLY through AT&T, just like all previous versions of the iPhone.

I know my company was looking at switching our blackerries over to Iphones. I was talking with one of our tech guys a couple of weeks ago, he told me that it was his understanding that any possiblility of a Iphone on Verizon won't happen at best early next year.

If you've got the 3GS OS4 will be available late June/early..
I'm now finally tempted to get one of these. The weight of the previous models put me off.

As a 3G owner, I'm really interested to see what the next generation will bring. Not that I'll buy one soon though...it's a company phone. Anyone up-to-date on what features the new version will bring?

The iPhone 4 will rock. Seriously. The screen is twice the resolution and I read something or other about the pixels being smaller than the human eye can distinguish. It'll be the sharpest screen on the market by far.
What really excites me, however, is the A4 proc. It's the same as what's in the iPad. While 1GHz might not sound like much these days, the A4 screams on the iPad. I'm posting from an iPad right now and the A4 "feels" as fast as anything I've ever used.
And to take a step back in time, 1GHz used to be the definition of a supercomputer. Think about it - a supercomputer you can drop in your pocket and hardly notice. Unbelieveable.
I think the camera was bumped to 5MP and it'll shoot 720p HD video. There's a front-facing camera, too, so you can videoconference.
I had been on the fence with some of the Android phones, but am already drooling at the prospect of owning one of these. I use the 3G right now, but this thing is going to be a major step up.
Too bad I'll be stuck with AT&T again for two years. IIRC, Apple's contract with AT&T was for five years, so when my contract expires from the new model, I'll be able to finally jump ship. The reason Verizon isn't possible now is because they use different frequencies and a different chipset than AT&T does.
Though I'm sure there's a team working under deep cover at Apple cooking up a universal iPhone for 2012. They know very well that the only thing holding back their marketshare is that a lot of people don't want to switch to AT&T.

Ohh, I can only hope that is the way they are thinking! But perhaps AT&T is the only carrier willing to so heavily subsidize the iPhone purchase price?
My wife and I bought a pair of 3Gs's in March, and I love it, but really despise AT&T. The coverage is fine in our area (near metro Boston), but the billing practices of AT&T are like trying to read tea leaves or something, the bill is never very clear, and it seems that they like to try and overbill and see if you will catch it. When you call to complain, they take the additional charges off, a sort of "OK, OK, you caught us..." but if you don't go over your bill closely they will try and sneak in a bunch of additional charges.:mad3: On our very first bill, it was about $150 more than it should have been. After my wife called and complained, the $150 was taken off, and it was also then "discovered" that we had like 700 extra minutes left as well...:sneaky2:
My concern regards the possible "upgrade" to OS4 on the 3Gs-I read somewhere that on past devices, "upgrading" the old iPhone to the new OS, left the phone operating slower than before. Any experiences with that?
