Finally decided to register here after some inconsistent lurking! I began wetshaving with a safety razor about 6-7 months ago after I got an Art of Shaving starter kit from my girlfriend for christmas.
I have very sensitive skin and thick facial hair so it gets quite troublesome in the neck area, although not as bad as when I first got started. :)
I'll probably be picking up a new brush in the end of the summer when I have earned some cash (still in uni). Any recommendations? My current brush is too floppy and not as soft against the face as I would like. The Shavemac 177 looks very nice!
Here is a pic of my modest collection:

Welcome.
Nice start so far. For a brush that won't break the bank, try an Edwin Jagger from The English Shaving Company ( right now they have free shipping). I have also purchased 2 brushed of fellow B&B members and have saved $$.

Welcome!
My neck has multiple growth directions and it took systematically experimenting with different directions to find the solution for me. Enjoy your shaves!

Welcome. I agree that it looks like you are off to a good start. You may want to add a soap to your kit.

Thank you for all the kind words gentlemen! Since I wrote my first message I have been out buying white vinegar which I then used to clean my brush; very nice results! I have also been self-diagnosed with mild to moderate RAD and SBAD.
I'm also looking in to ordering some blades. I have only tried Merkur (with terrible technique and horrible results) and Feather. I really like my Feather blades since they seem to get through my thick hairs without any pulling. Could you recommend me any blades that are rather similar? From what I gathered Super Idirium, Gilette 7 o' clock and Bolzano seem to play in the same league when it comes to sharpness?
My neck has multiple growth directions and it took systematically experimenting with different directions to find the solution for me. Enjoy your shaves!
Yes that's precisely my problem, the neck hair grows in about 4-5 different directions and it's very annoying when you realize/feel that you just "entered another area"!
I guess you like Nivea! :w00t:
Haha! I really like the after shave balm and skin lotion but the other face care products I have from them are rather bland to be honest. They don't last too long either but considering their price and since I don't have any serious issues with my skin they will do for now.:001_smile

Oh it already has! After reading up on what a slant can do I'm very tempted in getting a Merkur 37C but I think I'll work on my technique some more before I go down that road; I'm not too interested in decorating my bathroom in "Ruby Red".

Thanks, I'll definitely do that!
You may want to add a soap to your kit.
Interesting idea! Any suggestions for thick beard and sensitive skin?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll be buying one very soon!
