so i was just ruminating (a reflection on what my life has become) and thought it would be fun to know what razor(s) does mr. razor use? if you had his collection which one(s) would you use?

I think I heard him say once that he only COLLECTS vintage razors and actually shaves with a Bic disposable.

Then again, an archeologist rarely eats from the pottery he finds!

Achim is positively the Indiana Jones of the Gillette World!

His is the definitive site on the pictorial history of Gillette Razors and blades.

We need to see how well this razor shaves, so we'll give it to our Tame Razor Expert. Some say he's shaved with the same vintage Bic disposable for 20 years. Others say when he nicks himself, he bleeds mercury. All we know is, he's called MrRazor!

that's true enough, but i venture to guess that most collector's got interested in razor collecting by first using them, whereas an archeologist usually doesn't become interested in archeology because he/she lives in an ancient ruin.

Well ... here's another thought ...

Has anyone here every met "him" in-person?

This is, after all, the internet. "Mr." Razor may very possibly be "Ms." Razor. :w00t:

Now that would be ironic! Any shaving experience "Mr." Razor might share would then be totally irrelevant (I hope!) to the majority of us in this community.

Better that we stick with the mach3 answer I think. Had he mentioned a DE, that same DE would be going for outrageous amounts tommorow on the `bay.

I believe it was cooncatbob, who commented on how nice the heads were on the Stahly live blades. Since then I swear demand and prices have doubled. ;)

I fully support Achim's astute choice to embrace of modern technology while appreciating and preserving old world craftsmanship. The rest of us are merely happy Luddites cowering in fear of technological progress.

Yes He is supporting the company he works for. Nothing wrong with that.

I could have sworn I saw him say once he used a disposable.

Achim can shave with a piece of sharpened flint and lather up with oleomargarine if he wishes. It's his research I dig and not his personal grooming habits. :thumbup1:

Cool! :thumbup1: It's a reminder that each of us is here for his own reasons; we don't all have to follow the party line on cartridges. I can understand collecting the old razors just to look at them, it just isn't what I'm into.

Mind you, my personal attitude toward the Fusion is a mild :thumbdown. If I did go back to a cartridge as a main razor, it would be my Atra. And I'm not likely to go back to a cartridge as a main razor.
