Hello all. I have been lurking for a few months and thought that now is a good time for me to sign up. I first got into DE shaving a couple of months ago after about 20 years of shaving with whatever was the latest cartridge that Gillette was pushing with a couple of failed attempts at electrics along the way. I never really had too many complaints about my overall shave but the prices of cartridges were becoming too much! (Of course now I want to buy every soap and cream I see. LOL) I came across this site and I will never go back. I consider myself lucky as I made a rather easy transition overall but still working toward my first full BBS. I am also getting started early on my 6 year old son. On the weekends, I lather up extra and apply to his face, take the blade out and let him go to town on his little face.

Breaking them in early, eh?

Make sure the loaded razor is kept locked away so he doesn't wander in and try to repeat the process on his own.

Welcome to B&B, glad you're here!

Oh yeah I totally forgot to add that. I use the Merkur HD with either Red IP or Shark blades. I like them both. I did do a sampler and those were my favorite.

Good that you did the sampler and already found your blade!

Welcome.

My grandfather and father did the same thing with me when I was a child. I felt so proud "shaving" along side of them. Then they would splash witch hazel just like they did. Your son will carry these memories forever.
