So about three weeks ago, I got an empty Travel Tech case, complete with plastic holder. A week ago, I found a lonely Travel Tech w/no case, which proves that razors try to find an empty case to sleep in. Sadly, the top of the case was a mess. I tried to clean it, but it was down to the copper in parts, so more cleaning wouldn't help. So I decided it was Arts&Crafts time! I dis-assembled the case and grabbed some scrap leather from my pile. Found a piece that was just a bit bigger. Went to apply it with contact cement only to read that you can't use it w/brass or copper. Great. I broke out my can of 3M Spray Adhesive 90, and applied some to both the lid and the leather. Attached the two pieces, clamped, and when it was done, I took a old DE blade to shave a angle on the edges of the leather. Below is the outcome.

The only bad part was since I originally planned on using brush on contact cement, I didn't mask the sides of the case lid, so spray adhesive got on it, and took some of the lacquer off when I tried to clean it off. Lesson learned for next time.

Very nice job! I have a 3 piece new and fat handled tech with not homes. I've decided to take it upon myself to make my own travel case for them out of an old fisherman's friend cannister. We'll see how that goes.

Excellent job. I'm surprised that there isn't more people repairing cases.

This is one thing I love about B&B.
People are very inventive with cases, razor racks and other such accessories.
Great job. Looks very nice indeed.:thumbup1:

I could even see spray on truck bed liner for an industrial/indestructible look.

Sadly, according to my theory, you need the case. I have tons of loose razors, but whenever I get a loose case, the razor that belongs to it seems to find it's way home. I still have an empty coffin upstairs I am hoping the straight it belongs to finds me.

I usually find empty plastic cases, but finding metal cases is rare, for me at least. I searched the table of boxes that I found that empty one on for the razor, but no luck. Up until that point, I had never found a loose travel tech. Once I saw the case was is good structural shape, fixing it up was easy. Anything further would probably be out of my league.

I usually do paint things like computer cases and metal boxes, but this was just nice enough to warrant some of my good leather.
