I placed an order with Bullgoose on Saturday afternoon. It was on my doorstep today: I'm surprised the box didn't have scorch marks on it.
Thanks to Phil for the excellent service, and I'm looking forward to trying out the new toys.

I underestimated how popular the Feather Razor would be. I am trying to order more but they are on back-order from the distributor. My best guess is that I will have them back in stock in about 3 weeks.

I have been trying to source Floids but have not yet had any luck. Part of the difficulty is that Floids is extremely high in alcohol content and is considered a hazardous substance. This creates more red tape and headaches for an international distributor. I will keep trying.

Simpson has agreed to make another batch of Grosvenor LE brushes for me but they are out of two band hair. I hope to have them back in stock sometime in July.
The two Vie-Long brushes are on my radar. I have to wait until I have a fairly large order to make it cost effective.
In the here and now though...I just added the following to my site:
* DR Harris Military Style Leather Wash Bag (http://www.bullgooseshaving.net/drhalemiwapa.html)

Phil gets the job done. I ordered some blades on Saturday and couldn't remember what else I wanted to get. Sunday morning I remembered that I forgot to order the Alum Block so I went back and did it. I asked Phil to combine the products into one shipment, but he moves so fast he had already sent my first order...all of this on a Holiday weekend.
Real quick responses too. I wish he had EJ or Muhle DEs, but Phil indicated that the wholesale distrubtor for the US charges an arm and a leg (The DR Harris he carries is basically the same as an EJ Chatsworth anyway). Not to mention there are Distribution Agreements and what not. I'll keep ordering from Phil and I hope that he's able to widen his offerings...they're pretty good now, though.

The 1st brush is a Vie-Long custom two band brush tentatively named El Toro Ganso (Bull Goose in Spanish). I am expecting El Toro Ganso any day now. The 2nd brush, The Simpson Douglas, will be a two band Simpson brush based on the Simpson 57. It will have a flat crown and a loft of around 50mm. It has been in the works since January and has been delayed by the scarcity of two band hair. The latest ETA is August but it is a moving target.
obsession.
Mostly because I saw the Realm balm was a closeout special offer and I wanted to try it.
Naturally, while I was there I added other stuff to my cart that I have been wanting to try plus some derby blades that have been my favorite so far.
Admittedly, I have only tried 4 others but these along with the Gillette 7 (greens ?) have performed the best.
I even ordered some Taylor avocado based upon recommendations and reassurances that I would not smell like a salad. I have to admit that the Taylors Rose and feel scent is wonderful.
Also, I didn't know about this "vendors" section with the ads. I most certainly have been lacking in my browsing duties.

Wait, Wait....
What are the dimensions of the Vie-Long. How does it compare to the 16726. I was about to pull the trigger on that one, but will this one be better and have a similar shorter loft? Also, is it a LE like the Grosvenor was (which I love BTW)??

The loft and knot size of the new Vie-Long brush should be very similar to the 16726 although I will not know for sure until they arrive and I can measure them. The main difference is that the new brush comes with a red and white resin handle instead of the olive wood handle. They have been in customs since July 11th and I expect to have them any day now. I should be able to regularly stock this brush.

Oscar at Vie-Long was kind enough to make a special brush for me taking one of his more popular handle designs and matching it with a knot in two band white badger. I call his creation "El Toro Ganso" (http://www.bullgooseshaving.net/vieltogaintw.html). :w00t:
This brush should prove to be versatile tackling soaps and creams alike with aplomb. The approximate brush dimensions are:
Knot: 22mm
Loft: 50mm
Overall Height: 91mm

Although the badger hair in the two brushes is identical, the knots in the 16726 have a slightly shorter loft and a slightly larger knot diameter than the knots in El Toro Ganso.

I don't really know if this is the proper place to do this, but I'd like to report an overwhelmingly positive experience with BullGoose Shaving. As a new DE shaver, I needed a blade sampler pack to try out. I ordered one this Saturday afternoon from BG and in less than an hour I was notified that my order shipped out. I got the sampler today, Monday, a record time.
Even though my order was small, I was treated like the most valued customer. Shipping was lightning fast, almost like the BG people live IN a post office. I can say that I know exactly where I'll be going in the future for my shaving supplies.

I've placed several orders with Bullgoose and have been very pleased with Phil's customer service. Thank you Phil!
The free samples :) I got some lime zest bar soap sample. The best part was how yummy the package smelled when I opened it. Its good soap too :)

+1
Top notch service from Phil. Insanely fast shipping and the fact that he personally messages you every time you order is a nice touch and rare with any merchant this day in age. As long as he keeps stocking Feathers and Valobra, I'll keep ordering from Bullgoose

I just got my order in this afternoon with the Coate's. Excellent service and lighting fast shipping as usual from Phil. I really enjoyed the Coate's cream, having never shaved with the older stuff. It smells very vegetal, kind of sweet, to me. It had an interesting tingle on the face after 2 passes or so. I've also been using some of the Pre de Provence bath soap that he's got on the site, and I have to say that its a treat. They last considerably longer than the gold Dial I'd been using, and the scents are heavenly to boot. SWMBO loved the lavender soap.

Just placed my first ever order with bullgoose for some MWF in the ceramic jar. I normally order from WCS and thought I should spread the love amongst our B&B vendors.

You will not be disappointed. I have ordered countless times from Bullgoose and Phil has never missed a beat. One outstanding guy to deal with.
Which reminds me. I need to order some Bolzano blades and Ogallala Bay Rum Sage and Cedar AS.

Received my order today, just when Phil said I should expect it. 2 days from Cali to Chattanooga is darned good. Of course, Phil also threw in a couple nice goodies.
Bottom line - first class service, great prices, and he's one of the few places that still has my precious RP Personnas.

Interesting. Is the Kabinett Soap the same thing as the tinned shave soap?

The Kabinett soap is a firm soft soap with a consistency that is similar to P160 Tipo Duro or Valobra and can be molded to a shave bowl or mug. The tinned shave soap is a harder shave soap.

Tabac Hair Cream?!? Might just have to try that! Phil is my "go to" traditional wet shaving/grooming vendor... He just gets the job done!

The Tabac Hair Cream was just too tempting to pass up so I pulled the trigger on a $10.99 tube. To "round out" the order, DR Harris Pink Aftershave, DR Harris Almond Shaving Soap in Beechwood Bowl, and Arko, Tabac, and Palmolive Shave Sticks were added. There goes my Fidelity right out the window!

Phil sent an email response (apart from the automatic one) right away. I was impressed, to say the least.

There has been a delay. It was supposed to be shipped on August 12 or 13th but has not been. I need to call Vulfix/Simpson to see if I can get an estimated ETA.

While your on... Do you have any nice mentholated soaps, apart from Proraso, in stock or on the way...? I just ordered a My Time Bath and Body menthol cream, level 10. Supposed to freeze your face off. Now I'm after some quality mentholated soap, I fancy trying to make a 'super' lather...

There was an unexpected delay with the Simpson Douglas. I received an email from Simpson/Vulfix this morning and they now expect to ship them late next week.
The hybrid (badger/boar) Grosvenor brushes are a regular item and are in stock. I am also expecting a small batch of the two band Grosvenor LE brushes with the Douglas shipment.
