Seeing all the good posts about Cella I looked at the WCS site and see that it is listed as a "Shave Soap Cream" and in the picture of the red tub, it looks like a cream. But they also sell it by the kilo which suggests that it's a soap. Confused...

In Italy, most shaving soaps and creams are referred to as "Crema da Barba" translates directly to "Shaving Cream". I'd say Cella is more of a Soap.

This is like the "less filling v. tastes great" dilemma lol:

I say cream since it says cream but it isn't creamy, feels like a soap (<----spin:biggrin1:)

I live in Italy and buy Cella by the kilo and I say ... that its a soft, moldable soap. You can tear (or cut) off a chunk and press it into your bowl, where it acts just like soap.

I treat it like a soap. I mold it into a bowl and the load the brush from it just like I would any soap. It's great stuff, BTW!

I consider it a (soft) soap. When using Cella, I charge my brush by swirling a semi-dry brush for 30-60 seconds. If I did this with a tub of cream I would have WAY TOO MUCH product loaded onto the brush.

It's a floor wax and a dessert topping!

I would call it a semi-soft soap. It's not as soft as Proraso soap in the tub, but not as hard as a puck soap like VDH, or Mama Bears. Nowhere near as hard as a triple milled. I think it lasts longer than the Proraso though.

It's malleable, yeah, that's the best way to describe it.
