Has anyone ever heard of a russian DE blade called Voskhod? If so, how do they shave? I found a random store that has several wrapped packages of them for a decent price.

Nope, that's a new one to me! Just pick up a pack and try them. What's the worst that can happen :)

It seems they come from a Moscow based company "OJS Mostocochlegmash" which in Soviet times used to make motorbykes, large hydroplanes and spaceships.

Well the owner of the store had an open box, so she gave me one to try. I will shave with it tommorrow and report.

It's the company that also makes Rapira; those are good blades. Do not know this one, but if they are anything like the Rapiras I would try them.

I wonder if it's made from melted down space capsules!

Teflon coated? You should get a decent shave (if they're sharp enough). I'll tune in tomorrow to hear how it went.

Ok, so here is todays report on the blade. Todays setup was:

Gillete black super adjustable razor
Col Conk Badger brush
VDH soap
and the Voskhad blade

This blade is really good. I got a nice bbs shave after 3 passes. I have not tried feathers or other high end blades yet. I am still going through the 10.00 sample pack of blades of westcoastshaving. I am going to retry these blades after I finish the sample pack. That might take a while since I normally use a straight razor. So far this is the best blade I have used. I am going to pick some up from the lady.
