Does the head of the Merkur HD come off?
If so how do I disassemble it?
Thanks

I dont think it does. I have a 38 c which is similar , but longer. If you unscrew the base , the upper portion that holds the blades comes off, but not the whole head , just half of it.

Yes it comes off. Let's see if I can express myself correctly. You turn (screw) at the bottom of the razor and the top will then be removable.
Follow this line it will give you all answers :

Maybe I did not get the question right, if this is not "coming off" then the answer is: No it dosen't.

I was asking if it can be disassembled more than just the piece where you insert the blades.
I didn't think it could but I saw some razor designs allowed for the head to come apart for the handle so I thought maybe the HD can too.
Thanks for the quick replies.

Just the top comes off when you unscrew it from the bottom.

That video was nice plus you embedded it into your post. Someone who might not know how to use the HD will find that helpful.
