I hope this hasn't been brought up before, but we are all wusses!
Technically, this should go in the straight razor forum, but I think it will be enjoyed by all.

There are a couple of good videos of people shaving with axes too. The guys with big amish style beards are a laugh.

I like how he chopped up the small tree first. I'm assuming that he shaved with the part of the blade that wasn't used during the chopping.

That video is pretty extreme, you have to realize he is trying to sell you on his products for knife sharpening. The idea I guess, is that if the blade is sharp enough to shave with (and not get cut) it should be sharp enough for any other activity.
I much rather prefer this video of backwoods shaving: A true gentleman of the outback packs all of his high class shaving products for the long trip into the wilds:

I love what this guy does. I've watched many of his youtube presentations and found them to be quite educational.

Wow,cool vid! Is that all there is to straight shaving? "All" you need is a Waterstone of some sort and a leather strop?

Pretty much. That and good technique. You can easily cut yourself much deeper than you can with a DE, but it is 1,000 more fun to shave with the straights. Way less irritating as well.

Straight shaving doesn't have to be madly expensive: you need one shave ready straight razor, a leather strop, and some means to touch up the edge (be that a barber's hone or similar stone, or a piece of balsa, and fine cutting pastes).
Most straight razor users turn it into a hobby, with multiple razors, strops, and the full set of hones, so they can restore badly damaged razors.
