I scored some Musgo Real after shave, tall bottle and cork box. Man, I like this smell. Good stuff. I think I'm really going to like it.

I've been wanting to try some but it's not very easy for me to get. Time for me to suck it up and get the sampler...

Absolutely the best stuff on the planet-especially the balm.

Musgo Real Splash is my favorite aftershave hands down.

I got some from Lee (along w/ the balm) last week. They're both great.

I really like the splash. I was going to try the balm, but the splash is so moisturizing, I don't see the need for the balm with this one. I might try some of the cologne too.

OK. How do you all use/wear the splash without it leaving a sticky film on your face. I haven't had any luck, no matter how I tried or how much I tried putting on...wet, dry, large amount, small amount, whatever. If I use a very small amount, it doesn't gum up my face but also does nothing else because there is nothing on my face to work.
Any ideas?

I just tried the balm this morning. Loved the calming and smoothing effect.
I'm not too sure about the smell though. I'm 25 years old and there might be a "older adult smell" to it. I like the smell but i'm not sure it fits me. :001_unsur

My experience with Musgo Real splash echoes what John said. It is moisturizing, smells nice, but always leaves a sticky film on my face. As he mentioned, decreasing the amount applied does not appear to solve the problem. Although I recognize this to be a good product, I'm about ready to give up on it.

One more observation I forgot to mention. If some of the splash dries on the outside of the bottle, the bottle has a sticky feel to it as well. I've not experienced that to this degree with other AS's.

I see your point:smile: ...it does kinda scream "Grandpa's here!", but I'm in my early 40's and I can almost pull it off.

As much as I love the smell of Mugso, I find the calming properties of Aqua Velva to be far superior which is important for me since I'm swapping around razors and blades a lot still to find my perfect match.
I'm only 20 but I don't mind smelling like a grandpa if it means smelling good!

Can anyone give me an idea what "Musgo" and "Speick" spell like?

This review tells you better than I can. I use it, the ASB, and the shaving cream on a regular basis. It has a very traditional, masculine smell. Some guys here will tell you it makes you smell like an old man. To a degree, that may be true. I say it smells "I'm old school, don't mess with me" which to me is what wet shaving w/ a DE or a straight is all about.

I'm not sure how helpful I can be, but I'll throw in my .002. I've only used the Speick products, so here goes. The cream to me, is a wonderfully spicy cedar/spruce/lavender/pine scent while the EdC is a bit different. The EdC is like a spicy...floral...eh...sorry, I'm at a loss for a description of the EdC. If you have ever smelled Versace Green Jeans cologne, the Speick EdC is a dead ringer minus a bit of staying power. I've heard the AS is slightly different from the cream and EdC, but I would imagine it would be in that ballpark.
Sorry if I've muddled the waters...

I don't find the smell of Musgo at all old mannish. Trumpers Spanish Leather is a little, but don't fond this at all about Musgo. The fragrance is based on Patchouli and Vetyver, but most of what you smell is Musk, especially in the AS. I asked aPortugese friend, she told me that the name means "Royal Musk" and in Portugal, Musk is VERY popular, they have lots of products containing copious ammounts of it.
I find that it feels tacky for a few moments as I pat it on, but when it dries its just fine. Unless I've used WAY too much. It does leave a slight film, I suppose this is to protect the skin, and is mostly the Aloe Vera gel it contains.
