Guys, now this is a whiskey. Smoooooooooooooooth and delicious. Even my wife likes it. If you are fan of Jack Daniels, then give this a try. If you are not a fan of Jack or any other whiskey for that matter, then give Genltman Jack a try. I am confident you will like it.

I plead ignorance.

Is Gentleman Jack a nickname for Jack Daniels? A related product? I tried JD once (Las Vegas airport) but that's it.

Gentleman Jack is a different kind of bourbon whiskey produced by the Jack Daniels distillery. It's not the same as the Jack Daniels Tennessee Sour Mash - not at all. Smoother, sweeter, more mellow, with a lovely smoky roundness to it. Great stuff. I drink it neat when I'm not in a JD mood. It's an entirely different trip than Jack Daniels.

It is Jack Daniels, but rather than running it through the charcoal mellowing process once like the Old No. 7 recipe, it is run through the charcoal mellowing process twice. Gentleman Jack is run through the charcoal mellowing process prior to AND after aging.

If you are looking for Tennesse Whiskeys, check out the George Dickel line. IMO they are far superior to any product created by Jack Daniels. Also look into bourbons, they lack the charcoal filtering, but you can find many whiskeys that will have a far superior rating to JD products for less money as well.

Has anyone toured the Jack Daniels Distillery? I've always wanted to and have heard that its a lot of fun.

I actually prefer the No.7 over the Gentleman Jack. Yeah it's smooth but IMO they mellow out everything that makes JD so good.

I am a Bourbon man, not a Tennessee Whiskey guy, but I won a bottle of Gentleman Jack in a raffle once and enjoyed every drop. It was mellow and smooth, like other posters have stated.

I don't think I like it enough for it to replace Woodford Reserve in my cabinet, but I like it enough to drink it if one of my go-to bourbons isn't around.

I find Gentleman Jack to be a very nice drink to have on the rocks.

I've enjoyed a bottle or two of this and like it much better than either the JD Single Barrel or Old. No. 7, but it's not likely to replace anything on my bar shelf. Enjoyable, drinkable, yes, but too many things I like better.

Interesting...

I am not able to drink No7, not smooth enough. I drink the Single Barrel by itself and love it! I should try it then!

I would recommend a whiskey by the name of Henry Mckenna. It is very good whiskey. Henry Mckenna also has a single barrel that is great if you can find it. Evan Williams is good, as is of course the George Dickel line.
