"Heart notes of Amber and Rum with a light top note of musk and Bay make this irresistible!"
... um.
I smell vanilla-bubblegum and soap...
I love amber, I love bay. Dominica Bay Rum, I have that.
Something is wrong with my nose? Musk and amber are deep and spicy; bay is lighter. This should be a deep, alluring scent; but it smells sweet and bright to me, like an off-vanilla.
Is it just me?

I find fragrance descriptions about as useful as the blind find maps. One man's amber and rum is another man's vanilla and bubblegum. "Should" won't get you very far. Smelling firsthand is the only way to really know what a scent smells like.

I suppose it goes both ways; I learned this with the other Mama Bear's cologne I got, which was amazing but I was iffy on its description.

I have it, the shaving soap, and love it. I get the vanilla but not the bubblegum. I love the soap but I don't know if I would want a cologne in that fragrance. Might be a bit much for me.

The end result is the same, which is the description doesn't necessarily match your nose's take on the product itself.

Are you saying that YMMV?
Seriously?
