I tried Tabac for the first time yesterday. I smelled the soap in the bowl and personally thought it had a nice slightly musky scent. It lathered well (maybe not as well as I expected based on all the hoopla on the forums). I do think my french soaps outperform Tabac by a small margin.

Nonetheless, I had a good shave and never really noticed the scent after lathering. As always my wife walked up to me to take in the scent and to my surprise told me I smelled like a giant crayola crayon.

I am not sure I'm ready to give up on this soap yet, but I have plenty of other soaps that perform at least as well. So if the crayola scent predominates I will have to join the tabac resistance and give it up.

Does anyone else think Tabac smells like crayons?

I don't smell crayons in it, but it does smell like a retirement home.

Agreed. That's why I gave it to my boy.Funny thing is my wife really likes the scent.Probably because it reminds her of work.

ahah .... maybe my wife isn't crazy. Although, i thought she was. My plan is to wait few days, slip the tabac back in the rotation and what she thinks of the scent blind.

I tried it for the first time today and loved it. Great feel on my skin, good protection and honestly...by the time I've given myself a good splash with ice cold water, applied Thayer's and then patted on Tabac aftershave...the soap is hardly an issue!

No, but I've been told that Lilac Vegetal reminded them of Play-Doh.

I took that as a complement, helping someone connect with their childhood! :thumbup1:

I'm not sure what would be the point of an alter ego on the B&B unless you are a vendor.

Or maybe he's up to something sneaky.:detective:

I'll bet he's a vendor about to introduce a line of Crayola-scented soaps!

So for the next soap you can mill some crayola crayons, put in some glycerine, tallow and you have your own home grown economy Tabac ready for use !!

Oh ! and did i say it comes in all the colors of the rainbow !!
