This is gonna come down to a photo finish. Waiting to hear from our friends in the Gillette sky booth. We'll take a break while we hear a word from our sponsor and allow our stations to identify themselves...

Whichever one of you guys gets boned.. I'm going to put another fatboy up for trade tomorrow. I'm hoping to get some creams for some razors. It's not as pristine as this one, but it's the same date code I think, and it looks and functions great.
Good Luck!

This is great! I'm fairly new around here and even I know that a fatboy sale in the BST is getting to be an event. These jewels are gonna start commanding some real money, and very soon. I'm not looking to profit, mind you, I simply want one to HAVE. To shave with. That way I can brag to my wife when these things are going for four hundred bucks a copy "see Darlin', I was smart to get one when they were forty bucks". That'll get me some domestic points.
And yes, I feel lucky. :)

I used to shave with one. Also a Super Speed and a Slim back in the day. I've just gotten back to the DE world. And, truth to tell, I wouldn't want to go back to what I left. Blade technology today is light years ahead of what I used in the 1950s. And soap and stuff was available back then only at the local drug store. I used a boar brush, what looked like a shortened coffee cup, and a puck o' soap. The Internet has given me access to a world that was undreamed of back then.
So, the FB is sort of retro. But the blades of today are way ahead of whatever Gillette offered back then. I remember in the late 60s switching to Wilkerson DE. An improvement, to be sure.
Does anyone know of a site that compares the metal technology of older blades to newer ones? Just thought I'd ask.

I too was blown away by the improvement offered by the Wilkinson SS blades back in the day. They were smooooth and lasted forever compared to the plain steel Gillettes. I had to go to the local farm/pet store to buy them! Then later Gillette offered some SS and then platinum blades and I used those with success. During that time I also liked the Gillette adjustables, and remember buying the ladies version with the longer handle. (I have large hands, so can appreciate something to grab onto)
Today's blades may or may not be improved over the earlier ss or platinum offerings, but there are now many choices to match up with what ever razor you have. The Fat boy is a good choice with adjustability and a burly handle to hang onto. Can't go wrong!

Riot control not needed. I'm mostly a quiet guy. Payment sent.
I've just learned that there's a Fat Boy's Owner Club. Whoa. You people are serious . . .
Anyway, glad to hang out on B&B now and then. Even at my age there's lots to learn.
