Slim took a spill...

...and she doesn't look so great anymore :glare:.

Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? The doors are completely crooked--one side is sagging compared to the other. My camera sucks, but I tried to take pictures.

Poor thing... she gave such great shaves, too... :(

Small screwdriver, adjustable wrench (for leverage), patience, good eye, gentle touch, good karma.

Quite a few of us have brought bent razors back into square - just be gentle and go slow. Don't try to bend a whole bunch at once.

Thanks for the response. Are you referring to bending the safety bar DOWN in the area where it's close to the doors, or am i somehow going to be lifting the doors up?

Hard to be sure with fuzzy photos, but I would guess the trauma has caused two issues. The doors and the blade lift plate.

Look at the cylindrical part above the numbered adjusting dial. That piece is pressed into the flat plate on the bottom of the head. If you look at the shouldered edge of the cylinder at the flat plate. Most likely that seam is uneven.

Can you confirm this....Yes or no?

I'm not so sure I understand what you mean. As far as I can see, the seam is part of the plate on the bottom of the head. I took some better quality photos of the area I think you're talking about.

I had one with the same problem and the culprit was a bent center post. I fixed it by very gently tapping the center bar on the high side until the gap was even.

I can't tell from photos (clarity and angle) exactly what is out of whack. I'd say Tom is on the right track - probably more than one thing bent.

Start by getting the head (center bar and doors) square with the handle. Then, if the adjuster plate or guide bars need to be tweaked you have a square reference with the head. If you fix the bars first it would be for naught if the top isn't square.

It's a matter of patiently "eyeballing" the razor and determine just what is bent and by how much. I wish I could be more precise in my advice.

I believe this is correct--it seems the center post is bent--this is causing the doors to be angled.

AWESOME! I just fixed it. I popped one of the doors off, stuck a chopstick under the centerpiece on the lowered side, and lifted it right back up. Working perfectly now. Thanks B&B--you saved the life of my Slim.
