Hi there.
http://www.feather.co.jp/eindex.html
No wonder Feather blades have a reputation for being the sharpest thing around. They are manufacturing surgical tools, scalpels and all kinds of sharp things. Pretty cool. I'm sure this was old news for many of you here, but I didn't know, so I supposed there might be someone else here at B&B who didn't.
Now for my question. When looking at the product line at the Feather website I couldn't find any DE blades. Is the DE blade production discontinued (which also may be the reason why Feather blades seem so hard to find)..?
Thanks.

Hey Deere;
I had the same observation about the site......doesn't mention DE blades at all. I was looking to find a Feather dealer or distributor here in Bangkok, and ended up sending an e-mail to Feather (in the "Contact Us" area?).
Anyhow, about 2 days later, i received a nice e-mail from Feather Japan, and they provided me with a name and phone number for somebody fairly close to where i live! Got my Feathers delivered the next day. I won't tell you how cheap you can get them here, by the way, ...you'd cry!
Cheers

I take it you only looked at the english part of their homepage:
http://www.feather.co.jp/jProducts.htm → http://www.feather.co.jp/jGeneral_Mens.htm → http://www.feather.co.jp/jGeneral_Mens01.htm
Also: http://www.feather.co.jp/jBarber.htm
Would you like that Artist Club RG in Pink or Lime? http://www.feather.co.jp/Barber/artist_club/index_artist_club_rg.html

No, I never looked at the japanese part. Good find. The packaging is different though.

Personna is also in the scalpel and surgical tool business, which I'm sure is an excellent justification for why they've always been my favorite blade.

and ted pella makes surgical blades aswell,
as mentioned by other members, a blade can be too sharp leading to a less smooth shave, you wouldnt use a steak knife on a fish, the meat would fall apart, each use requires a blade to have a different degree of smoothness and sharpness, a blade thats too sharp can really wreak havok on a skin thats not 100% smooth, not everyone here is babyfaced, its about the glide as much as cutting ability

Dear Dsipari,
I found a posting on Badger and Blade where you mentioned being able to purchase Feather double edge blades in Bangkok. I'll be visiting Bangkok in a couple of weeks and would like to pick up some blades. Can you tell me where to find them.
Thanks,
George

If you're in Japan...buy Japanese! You can always get what you want, better made than practically anywhere else, and so cheap in the domestic market. Anything from a DE blade to a beer to a 10 tonne truck and everything in-between! Apart from dairy products....their milk's bloody awful

I am in Thailand a few hours south of Bangkok and buy feathers in the local beauty supply stores here
They seem to be the newer style packing from what is sold online from the bigger dealers
Notice the center pack - Astra's are also sold here

When I was last at the dermatologist, she did a surface cut of a mole with a Gillette DE blade. Does that mean Gillette is in the surgical business?
