Personally I like Grafton and Trafalgar the most. While the 1805 is wonderful stuff - it is not highly original, and there are other companies that make similar scents.

Armani Aqua di Gio is a dead-ringer for 1805 (or vice-versa?)

Tabac Culture smells similar. It's also cheaper. My son really likes it.

Zirh cologne is surprisingly similar, as are some "modern" colognes. 1805 albeit fantastic, does not truly stand out as a highly original scent as some other T&H scents do, such as Trafalgar.

What is the staying power of these colognes?

Austin

T&H colognes have good staying power with the exception of West Indian Limes. WI Limes last about 4 to 5 hours.

AH, but when compared to Trumpers, et al, 4 to 5 hours is an eternity..:001_smile

I thought I was the only person here who does not like 1805. It is nice to have company! :) I have to admit that I do not like any of the 1805 line (shave cream, cologne, etc.)

I also agree that the Limes has very little staying power. I am lucky to get two hours out of it.

Include me in the catagory of not liking 1805. I gave my bottle to my son.

1805. Liked the tester and ordered a bottle and cream set last night. The lime is pleasant, but I don't know that I'd want that scent to stay with me. Spanish Leather is starting to win me over too.

I love the limes scent, but I'm lucky if it lasts four to five minutes on me.:bored:

I also love the T&H limes scent. If you love T&H you will also love St. John's Bay West Indian limes. It is a bit like T&H but with a bit more staying power. Their aftershave balm is just wonderful.

It was quite nice, but didn't drive me wild. I had a bottle.... then traded it. I am told it has since been re-formulated.

Hi Joel,

I was not aware they had re-formulated it. This is the first time that I have tried St. Johns and must admit I really like it a lot. I got it directly from the St. Johns website and surmise it is the newer re-formulated essence that you alluded to. I can only assume that if you do purchase it from another vendor it just might be the older formula you talk about.

Their Bay Rum scent is just delicious as well, very similar to eggnog if you can believe it! The bay/clove scent is so strong and stays quite a few hours (almost 4).

On both aftershave balms, I give a big thumbs-up!

Joe
