Hi everyone at B&B iv been like so many a long time lurker and finally decided to register. Like so many other enjoyable hobbies i have had in the past i like to research and try as much as i can. When it comes to shaving i have tried lots of cartridge razors was even part of the azor testing although i dont rate the razor itself very highly. Then there was electric and most of the time braun won it for me.
At the moment im back to using the azor with polaar shaving cream which yields not to bad results but i have been dying to try the DE razors but its hard to find decent ones on ebay in the uk and you always run the risk of buying a fake or not as described. So i decided to join here iv pm'd Achim about the ones he has up but if anyone else can answer this possibly noob question. In Achim's ad its German Tech set 1961 NOS" what does NOS stand for. Also what are your opinions and thoughts on getting this razor as a starting point. From what iv read you guys love it and i was assuming its good to get off on the right foot rather than buying a £5 wilkinson sword one from boots thats not as well weighted.
Anyway I hope to serve many years on here like alot of you and continue the good service from B&B
Cheers Kenny
** UPDATE ** Having googled NOS razor in different ways would i be right in saying its NEW OLD STOCK. It is kind of hard to google NOS without Nitrous Oxide Systems trying to get on the page.

cheers everyone and cheers MrBear and nice to know your a fellow brit also toeknee Thanks for clearing up NOS seems others are also very good at keeping their possesions in pristine condition. Since it seems like a good set il wait on the payment details from achim and get one ordered thanks toeknee. How long did it take to arrive in the UK dont suspect it would have been very long.
Hope that helps you to spyvspy

Hi Kenny, welcome to B&B from North of the border!
Glad you finally stopped lurking. You won't go wrong with the Tech...it's a great razor (both for perfecting your technique and for further down the line).
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions, you'll find lots of friendly, helpful answers and advice here :001_smile

Hey pumpkin nice to hear from you in our capital and my birth place. Its a small world really when you use the interweb. Iv only been registered a little while on here and mate already i have received some of that friendly advice. Looks like its a good group of guys on here and im just cautious of registering with any forum as you know most just turn into flame wars. Tbh i canot be bothered with that hence why i spent some time lurking however i think il enjoy it here.

It took about 3 days to reach me,the only problem is that it is so shiny and new that i don't want to use it, i get it out with all intentions to use it then put it away again,i'm dying to use the 49yr old shaving cream but can't bring myself to open it:scared:

LOL you sound as bad as me I have to keep everything new and pristine for as long as possible and I know its no good leaving it to go to waste but as you said its 49 yo and to break its streak now would be madness.....but how good would the shave be it might be the best shave ever  the constant struggle

This is one of (very) few forums I've ever registered with, one of an even smaller number I actively participate in....and certainly the only one I'd have even dreamt of supporting! The mods are on top of stuff so there aren't a lot of trolls...plus I think the shared interest in this "hobby", with all the associated stuff, brings out the gentleman in everybody

Im certainly not got srad yet il toy with a saftey first scad thats probably a given already see, in the uk for any us guys reading this, we have TK MAXX, i believe this is your TJ MAXX anyway on my weekly trips there they often have many shaving creams, soaps etc all at great prices and to not try out as many as you can would be ..well a crime.

Hi kenny - I'm in Glasgow too and there are a few Scots on B&B.
You have The Executive Shaving Company in Glasgow - they'll sort you out for everything you need and you'll not have to pay postage and you can get a feel of the razors, strops etc before buying!

Granted, Glasgow Scotland is the real deal, Glasgow Kentucky was settled by Scotch-Irish, thus the name. Luckily, they brought their whiskey making tradition with them.

Again guys thanks for the warm welcomes its great to be here.
Thanks to MikeS, RB73, Barbash, rm71 nice avatar, blackfoot,
Alacrity59: yeah I did ask about NOS and found the answer but thanks for your reply, i was actually quite surprised at the amount of NOS to be had considering the age of some of the products. If only i could find myself a NOS slim adjustable since it seems to be a good razor and being a Bond fan with Sean Connery being the only Mr Bond IMHO. As long as it suits me this would be my main razor.
benjybhoy: Nice to speak to a fellow Glaswegian in scotland, The Executive Shaving Company in Glasgow is it open to public in the way of a shop? I know we used to have the mens store on suchiehall St and the website is still up but since iv not been in town shopping in ages, well for myself anyway :001_tongu , im not sure if its still there. Also im getting the sense of celtic man about you dont know what gives me that idea ha and your right there is nothing like knowing you come from the PROPER Glasgow and murder capital of Europe :w00t:
Pumpkin: just depends what way you hold the map :wink2: ha
wilsonent: its odd you say that since im over here and i love the work of Mr Jack Daniels
RCC: Hell we know RAD will consume our souls but the dude abides and i love bowling, so lets :thumbup1:

Yeah you can pop in my brother was in a few weeks back and raved about the stock and the people that run the business. They even have Rooney brushes and lots of hard to find stuff like large strops and bismark razors as well as day 2 day stuff too.
Give them a call or email hearwhat they've got to say for themselves. Yes a bit of a Celtic bhoy! You can tell us by our good looks!
