The aroma may not be the best and the metal tube is a pain... But!! The lubrication and smoothness of the shave from the Trumpers is so excellent if I get the water/cream mix in the bowl right. Israeli blade was fine, I could hear that lovely cutting sound while shaving.

SOTD Rating 9.2/10 ...very smooth...

Yesterday I had the best shave of the week, today probably the worst. The shave itself was mighty fine, BBS too, but the Golddachs soap is hard on the skin. During the first pass the itching began and after the third one my face was screaming in pain.
There was no irritation, no razor burn, no redness, just this pain on the face from the soap. Will try it again when the weather gets warmer...

I wanted to try and celebrate the arrival of my new brush by trying to use as many B&B themed or related vendors as it pertains to this brush offering. As Sue is providing us with a special shave cream to commemorate the B&B 2006 offering I chose to instead make use of her wonderful Savory Rose offerings along with QED Charles's superlative B&B cologne.

For the sake of fun and experimentation I chose to mix the B&B cologne with a little Czech & Speake No. 88 and apply only to the hot spots on my body instead of a spray of each to my chest. While the colognes seem to haunt different scent areas, they work very well with each other and the smell is excellent!

The brush is indeed a monster. It ate my Moss Scuttle up and then proceeded to unleash the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man upon my bathroom! :scared: I kid you not, but I have to relearn how to make and apply lather with this beast as I'm so used to how to do it with my Vulfix brush. I do see now what Joel means when he says Vulfix brushes are floppy. Futhermore, Scotto is quite correct in stating that this brush is a face-hugger! It is huge and pretty much tosses lather where it wants to. :rolleyes: (i.e. I made a mess and I don't care because I was having so much fun!)

The horn handle is gorgeous and shines even brighter when wet. There were no slippage issues even when my hand and handle were encased in lather and the balance of the handle to brush is very well done.

My whiskers have a new, fierce enemy. This brush is akin to the most dedicated of Marine Drill Instructors - it WILL make my whiskers stand tall and proud. :smile:

Ich weiß es noch nicht. Jetzt im Winter jucken einige Cremen und Seifen , mit denen ich normalerweise keine Probleme habe, ich hoffe mal, dass es an der trockenen Haut lag, ansonsten mag ich die Golddachs nämlich sehr, auch vom Geruch her.

I was looking at some of the other brush holders I've seen other members post. I'm not good at bending coat hangers so I thought I could make something different. I was cutting steel for a project at work and noticed some old pieces of aluminum. Measured my brush and bowl and made a rough design. When I had a spare moment, which isn't often, I fabricated this. Tools used: Kalamzoo horizontal band saw, old Bridgeport milling machine with a 7/8 end mill, Clausing lathe, upright belt sander, files, Emory cloth, and alot of polishing with Mother's aluminum polish. If I buy a bigger brush the center post can be replaced. My wife even likes it!

It was supposed to be a macro shot of my feather AC next to the cat that is painted in the mug it is sitting in. Plunging my razor in super hot water between passes is an integral part of my shaving ritual.

I like the feel of hot, hot steel and found it mowed my hair better.

The rose scent on the Salter's was a bit disappointing, but the lather was ok. The B&B Brush whipped up a fine swirl or two and felt big and soft on my face :biggrin1:. The B&B Razor was comfortable to handle and provided me with a fine shave.

An overall miserable shave because my house lost power overnight and there was only enough hot water to support a quick shower. Seeing how it was going to be a cold shave I decided to go with the Polar Menthol Express Shave that some others on this board have spoken about.

The shave was one pass, simple and the Proraso lathered OK in cold water but I have the feeling I'm going to be feeling stubble by noon. The deal killer on the shave was the Aqua Velva :angry: :9898: - the scent was OK at first but then quickly started to change to something that smelt horrid (:9898:) to my nose which resulted in me quickly washing my face off! Even after a round of Nancy Boy facial cleanser I could and can still smell this stuff. UGG!

The brrrrr factor was nice but I need to find something else that will deliver the brrrrr without the Aqua Velva.

Some days it just does not pay to shave. I'll probably have a hot towel and a proper shave when I get home from work.

A great shave today...first time with the Tabac and after a day without a shave made for an exquisite experience!

the Tabac scent was fantastic...I can really see this becoming my "go to" SS...really agreed with my face and the scent reminded me of something...

to me it had a definite smell of cigar smoke, to my wife more of a pipe scent...it sounds bad but it actually captured the "stale" cigar scent but in a GOOD way...kind of like a well-used study in the morning...a hint of last night's cigar but with bright light shining through the open windows with a fresh breeze mixed in. There is also a bit of a talc smell too...a lot like I imagine truly old-time barbershops would smell like.

Sorry for the long digression...I just really liked the Tabac!

A fine, fine make-up shave for this mornings debacle! The Smokin' soap smells very nice (but unlike described on MB's website), protects well and the scent lingers through the Pinaud and Nivea! Woot! The addition of the KMF ang glycerin to the burt's bees really turns a subpar (IMHO) ss into a super slick lather...excellent! first try with the AS and it really did burn...even without nicks it just sort of burned all over for a while. Smells great, though...and my skin looks awesome.

Ahh, pretty good shave today :thumbup:. Nicked myself a couple times on touchup, and had 1 weeper but most of them closed up on the cold water, for the remaining ones I used my styptic.

How I judge my shave, is by seeing how long the AOS ASB burns my face for, today it only lasted a second and I actually felt a cooling sensation on my face that I've never felt before when I applied the AOS :laugh:.

More nicks than my previous 'best' shave, but nearly no razor burn (little spot right under bottom lip still giving me some trouble) and no irritation! So while I improved on one thing I took a few steps back on another. Need to be more careful on my touchups I seem to lose all focus when I finish up.

I tried that before but I found that it was detrimental to shave before the shower as my face felt uncomfortable after the shower. You could try not applying your products until after the shower but I think your face might be uncomfortable in the shower that way. The best part of shaving is when you're finished and you apply your ASB and your face feels like a million bucks :001_smile

Have done that, it is weird.
Cons : - wasting some product since I'll have to remoisturize after shower
- on the other hand, if I don't soothe and moisturize after the shave,
will dehydrate and irritate my skin furhter
Pros : I have better shaves if do it before breakfast ; and most mornings, I'm too hungry to shower+shave before eating, so I do the following : shave, eat and shower

U can shave, apply Nivea Sens. balm for light moisture, shower, and moisturize...

Oh, by the way, that Florena is really nice stuff.

Couple of tiny cuts today which has become a rare event in the last few weeks. Think the Gillettes and Feathers are just too sharp and unforgiving for me. I'm more comfortable with the Derby's.

SOTD Rating 8.2/10 ...had better shaves...

Found the C&E by accident yesterday on clearance for 8 dollars! Quite a find...especially after reading some reviews! Smells great (I really appreciate that this is the smell of fresh (green) almonds pressed...NICE. Needed more water than a lot of creams, but was fantastic once enough water was added.
