Shave cream

Easy to measure
Easy or impossible to lather, depending on the cream and the person's skill

Shave soap

Impossible to measure; go by feel
Easy to lather
Difficult to add more product

Shave stick

Measure? Rub on your face and pray.
Lathering is luck or skill, since measurement of everything is hard
Face lather only; do not use a boar brush!

I don't know why, but when I get a cream right it lathers awesome. Some creams just don't work for me.

Soap is easy. Load until it seems loaded, then lather.

Face lathering...... Stiff boar brush and lots of pressure to work those bristles? Hell no.

Huh. I'm sure there's people that can't get a soap to work right.

Not everyone can face lather. Some guys have really sensitive skin and even the softest top end silvertip brush will give them brush burn if they try to do it.

As far as your creams go, make sure they are actually meant to be used with a brush. Some creams are brushless and will not lather no matter what. Also, check your water quality. If your water is hard, try using distilled bottled water for lathering your cream.

Uh, a shave stick is just soap in a tube instead of a puck.

And how many of us out there have woken up the morning after... :a46:
Reached over and used the shave stick as your deodorant :tongue_sm

With creams, the amount of water is important. For example, I need a lot more water for the KMF creams than for TOBS. That does not mean that one is better or worse, just different.
