What I really want to say is quite similiar to The Onion's headline when the first astronaut walked on the moon....a very beautiful and special razor, no denying it.

Thanks! The material is nickle, with brass pins, and an acrylic wedge. The enamel in an epoxy enamel. The nickle will oxidize much slower than sterling, and will hold up well in wet conditions, as will the epoxy resin I use for the enamelling. I think that scales should be functional as well as decorative. :w00t:

I haven't handled the razor perosnally yet as it went directly from RW to John but if it is done to spec then the edge is a mere 63mm long and the width is only 19~20 mm with a diamond back. It is a small razor. The results are still stunning me. I find myself coming back to this thread to just gaze at that first picture. AWESOME!!!!

That is an exquisite looking razor. What a treasure. I'd find it hard to leave the house without it. I would probably lock myself in the bathroom, petting the razor whispering to myself "my precious".

Thanks for all the kind words guys. They are greatly appreciated!
It was truly a joy working on this set of scales, and Seth was very patient with me.
I'm looking forward to doing another set of Japanese theme scales. :w00t:

Tell us more about how you made those scales ... I saw them and thought ... "he didn't make those scales by hand, now did he? He bought them, right?" :thumbup1:

Thanks Doc!
Seth and I worked on some patterns for a bit until we got something that he really liked, then I went to work.
Here is the first scalework that I did back last fall. I actually went through and explained the steps and took pics as well. :w00t:
enjoy.
