I figured I would try out a new thread for all the coffee and tea gurus here any anyone who has a pleasant or sophisticated addition to their morning ritual.
This morning I had a pot of Barang Assam with breakfast and now I'm having a pot of Golden Monkey from the Fuijan Province will I alternate getting some work done and playing around on here.
So now guys, feel free to tell us about the special breakfast, breakfast blend, morning pipe or anything else that helps get your day started off on the right foot.
I am almost to the bottom of my first pot of Sumatra Mandheling from Ristretto Roasters (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=13046) I have a big day ahead and it gets the motor going!

My morning usually starts around 4 or 5pm when my Daughter wakes me.
More often than not I am looking for the java as soon as my feet hit the floor.
I always have coffee in the fridge, as I enjoy iced coffee very much. French Market from a French Press has been my norm for many years.
Until.....a cuppa weeks ago when my Aeropress arrived.
This has transformed me.
As soon as I tasted the difference I started down the road of my new obsession.
I bought a hot air popcorn popper last week and today my shipment of green beans should arrive.
Gonna be roastin my own and Aeropressing from now on.

I've had to give up on the morning coffee as it was irritating the heck out of my otherwise hearty stomach. I guess after a certain age, one shouldn't have coffee on an empty stomach. But, I still need my morning wake up. So, after reading about it on line, I've switched to yerba mate' (an herbal tea popular in South America). Much gentler and I still get my kick without the irritation or 10am crash.

I brewed some Maxwell House in my Mr. Coffee, but I have a feeling that's the coffee equivalent of a Mach 3 shave.

Today it was a pot of Ristretto Roasters Nicaragua, black, and a bowl of stone-cut oatmeal with a pat of butter and dusted with brown sugar.
Been doing this for the past thirty or so years. Have a collection in my desk spaning over one hundred different blens. Oney four or five I drink on a regular basis. Soemtimes I depend on it like some people depend on their morning cup of coffee. I hate coffee so tea functions for me the same way a cup of joe does for most people. Should go to Magruders and buy some more tonight.

Normally (on work days) don't eat breakfast. When I do it's either oatmeal or a breakfast taco from the little deli next to the parking garage at work.
My usual breakfast (and all day at work) tea is Upton TD20 Darjeeling.
Weekends, like today, for breakfast I do a 3 cup pot of Brooke Bond Red Label tea with milk and a nice breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, etc. This morning I also threw in a teabag of ginger with the Brooke Bond to spice it up. I love ginger.
Once the breakfast tea is run out, the rest of the day is for fine Oolong, Green, or White tea.
