My wife and I have a small apartment kitchen and this potrack has really helped us use the space. Plus it looks great on our wall. It holds almost all of our pans, including a couple of the big, heavy, bulky ones up top.

Hope you enjoy looking.

Looks great! My gf and I were going to do the same thing, but since funds were running low. We just randomly scattered nails on the wall and hung out pans like artwork. It was cheap, took 30 minutes, and gets more compliments than most other art in our apartment.

I knew you were gonna ask that. I will take some when I get home from work (working 4-12 tonight). Will post them up tomorow. :)

I like hanging things like that. It sure beats digging through the pile in the cabinet or the drawer under the oven.

I really honestly thought that this thread said "pet rock" , Pot rack, we've never had one. you have to keep those pots in way better shape than any of ours look to have a pot rack.

Ouch,

I think Calphalon is great. We've got a mix of uncoated, and nonstick in different shapes and sizes. Some of the Stainless steel Cookware in the pic is Calphalon too. All of it was bought open stock.

Soon I'll put up some pics of the knives. I've got a set in a block on the counter. The tips you see are a 8"chef, 6" chef, and a 7" Granton Edge Santoku on a magnet strip which I installed.

Damn, I actually know what a granton edge is. What brand.

I assume the santuko is for the missus.

Nice rack. I notice you have your knives pointing up ... why? A bit hazardous? :scared:

Wusthoff. And nobody uses it because it's bent! I got it that way as a gift three years ago, and have been too lazy to contact Wusthoff.

Acudoc,
The knives point up because there is a work space right beneath it. It's pretty standard I think to point the knives up. Now that the potrack is there some care is required. We will have to watch out.

Heres a quick shot I snapped before heading out to work... I know I don't have the most top-end cookware but it works for the lifestyle my GF and I have.

i KNEW someone was gonna make a crack about that. Its definately SWMBO's, it was her grandmothers, and she is too sentimental to wear it, so its a decoration.

Really? Standard, eh? I was in the restaurant biz many years before what I do now. Then, as well as now, in my own kitchen and restaurants I worked in, safety was always first. I can tell you knife points up is not standard and asking for trouble. You even admit you have to be careful. I hope you folks are.

I stand corrected. I don't know why I thought this was the standard, just thought it was. I'll take another look at it, but with what we have under the knives, it seemed pretty dangerous with points down.

Michael,

I'm sorry to have gone and tried to make you wrong. You know it is only my opinion and nothing more. It is your kitchen and it works for you. That is the most important part. What works for me is something else. You're right, I do not know what lies below the rack, but I'm sure its utility far outweighs the knives' direction. Just be careful with those sharp pointy things, eh?

David
