Baxter's doesn't seem to get a lot of raves on this forum but found this online retailer www.justepourlui.com and this set. Seems like a really good deal. Who is this mysterious German maker of this razor and what does it resemble?

This same razor came up a short while ago somewhere around here. The opinion was that it's a rebranded Muehle, IIRC.

yep, thats a R89 (new revision) allright, considering muhle is selling them for almost half the price baxter is asking for it, i would look for the original,

The Muhle R89, and this Baxter razor are identical in every way, except for the name Baxter written on the handle, where it would usually say Muhle.

I paid $43 for my R89 through West Coast Shaving, and the Baxter branded version is $60.

Why pay $17 more just because it has the Baxter name on it??
