They were down 7-3 when I turned the game on. Very Impressive 2nd half by the Jets, especially their defense and special teams.

Perhaps... BUT, when all the analysts are asked what it takes to be successful in the playoffs, what's their answer? Run the ball and stop the run... Jets do that pretty well. :w00t:

I like the Jets. They used to draft Alabama players quite a bit back in the seventies.

Jets fans actually stole the idea for that chant from the Baltimore Orioles fans of the 70's and 80's which went like this:
O-R-I-O-L-E-S
They should never have left Shea.

I thought from day 1, well rather the 3rd quarter of the Colts/Jets game where the Colts decided not to try, that it would be the Jets who knocked them from contention.

Didn't they have a guy named Joe something back in the late 60's that played QB from 'Bama. By the way, express my thanks to your brethren for whoopin' the horns, if the Sooners can't win it, there's nothing better than seeing texas lose it. Lord knows we've given them their share of entertainment in the last several years.

I can't stand the Chargers, so I'm happy the Jets won. That said, the Jets are a pretty boring football team, in my opinion. They remind me of the Ravens team that won the Super Bowl, but not as good. Good running game, great defense, passing game that is auxiliary, but effective when necessary.
The Colts are my team, so I'm rooting for them even though I live in New York City. Don't tell anyone! New Yorkers don't react well to people not liking their teams!

The Jets I have seen this season remind me of the Steeler team that won Super Bowl 40. Great Defense, Strong running game, and a Quarterback that would not lose the game.

I disagree with that. Roethlisberger is a great quarterback who puts up big numbers and wins big games. Mark Sanchez might some day be great, as well, but right now his job is to not blow it, as the New York press will undoubtedly remind you over and over again. On top of that, the Steelers had Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Antwaan Randle El who are talented receivers. The Jets have a guy who would juggle a pillow if you threw it to him from five feet away (Braylon Edwards) and Jericho Cotchery who is all right.

Pretty neutral on the Jets. I'm a Packers fan so Im hoping Saints vs Jets in the Superbowl. I hate the Vikings and Peyton Manning. However still kinda like Favre. I grew up watching him and other than Rodgers hes the only Packer QB I can remember.

As a Texans fan, that would be quite poetic, and well deserved. I would absolutely relish seeing the Colts knocked off by the team that they layed down for and allowed to get into the playoffs (and kept my favorite team out). The icing on the cake would be that they sacrificed their shot at a perfect season in doing so.
As much as it pains me to say it, GO JETS!

Any green blooded Jets fan knows that Joe Willy was not the only Alabama quarterback that the Gotham Green drafted. The Jets also picked up Richard Todd who was another Bama QB back in the '70's. The pick didn't quite end up with the same results that the Namath pick did but Todd was a pretty good quarterback during his time with the Jets and they won some games. He played during the era when Freeman McNeal lead the league in rushing and the defense was led by the NY Sack Exchange - not the last team to go to a conference championship for the franchise but one of the rare few.

That is the case for our sixth Super Bowl but when they won their fifth in 2005 Roethlisberger was a different QB. He grew over the years between his first and second Super Bowl. MArk Sanchez has to start somewhere. He manages the game and with a strong defense and a running game that might be enough.

Sorry Jets fans, you had a superb run, but you'll be outclassed next week. Have a great offseason,

PS: I hope you're not paying Braylon Edwards more than a birthday party clown, as all he ever does is juggle.

Poetic Justice = Jets knocking the Colts out of the playoffs after only being in the post season due to Colts laying down in week 16.

I've been waiting for this a loooooong time!
Even if they lose against the Colts, it will still be an excellent season! The Jets weren't expected to go this far.
The Colts have everything to lose.

True that Roethlisberger has improved, but I'm still pretty confident that he was a game winning quarterback in his rookie season, whereas Sanchez is not. I agree that Sanchez has to start somewhere and, as I said, he could be great in time, but right now his job is to not screw it up.
I think the Jets are a good football team, but I don't think they can win it all. They've had a lot of luck - the Colts benching their starters, the Bengals benching theirs, Nate Kaeding having the worst game of his career... I can see them beating any of the remaining teams, as any team in the league can beat any other team, but I can't see them beating two great teams in a row.

The evil empire is only applicable to the Yankees! In the case of football, the Patriots are most likely the evil empire of the league.

I'm a Red Sox fan and I hate the Yankees!
Patriots/Jets rivalry does not even come close. Even though the Colts aren't in the same division anymore, I think the Patriots and Colts are bigger rivals than the Patriots and Jets are.
Therefore I say: Down with the Dolts and Go J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!

The New York Giants are my second favorite football team, so I consider the Dallas Cowboys to be NFL's evil empire.

I'm no Cowboys fan, but I thought the reason the Yankees are the evil empire is because they spend a lot of money and WIN A LOT... Cowboys don't exactly fit that criteria :001_rolle

I don't like the Cowboys at all, but Jerry Jones doesn't seem like such a bad guy to me.
I still vote for the Patriots as the Evil Empire of the NFL. They win a lot, they spend a lot and most importantly, they cheat. Other, less weighty contributing factors: their quarterback is uncommonly attractive and knocks up actresses and is married to the world's highest paid super model, their star wide receiver is petulant and mercurial, their coach is publicly an unlikeable galumph, their owner makes disgusting cheese products.

I dont think any owner should be standing on the sidelines looking over their shoulders. Just leave it to the professionals.
