It's unfortunate for him and his family.

As a Bears fan, it stinks because the team gave up a 2nd round pick to get him for half the season (most of which he rarely even played).

Hopefully it wasn't caused by unnatural ways (PEDs). 26 is simply too young.

Well they said it was cardiac arrest due to an enlarged heart, if I'm not mistaken. I'd have thought that they'd have done testing to know if that was a potential threat. Really tragic

This is sad no matter where your sports loyalties are, but as a Clemson fan, I'm very saddened. He was a class act.

Wow, what a terrible thing to happen. I went to college With Gaines. He was a great football player and a great guy.

He had so much more life to live. Way to young to go.

Here in Chicago we mourn him both as a tragic loss of young life and also as a steady and aggressive Football Player who had his whole career ahead of him.
Our prayers are with his loved ones.
