Collectors Section

What is everybody's thoughts about an area for listing our collections. We can use this to admire what each other has, barter, trade etc. As we acquire more we can update our post to keep are collection accurate. I have seen this done before it was audio systems but it was cool. We could do different things a standardized rating system, break sub forums brushes, razors, DE, straight etc. or just keep it simple in one. Just an idea, Any thoughts?

Sounds great, but I think it would work best as part of our profiles for the easiest organization and seemless access. I'd love to check up on what other products a person is familiar with to better contextualize their opinions.

That is a good idea but can you do a search in that. Say you were looking for someone with a certain razor or people using a cream. I do not know but I think that we be a good part of it. Maybe when you click on the name one of the things that come up is view collection or maybe under profile there is a link to their stuff!!

As for "collectors" section - I think it sounds like a great idea. In a way, we are all collectors here in some way...but some more serious than others. Don, can you elaborate on how exactly you envision this new section?

It could get unruly to breakout an additional sub-forum for every topic (brush, razor, etc). But perhaps a new forum called "collectors corner" or something catchy would be in order...

Yes that is what I was thinking "My Collection" "My Stuff" etc. Each Memeber would have 1 post that they would edit as needed. Not and area to chat about collecting or make offers to buy sell or trade. You could comment on each other collections but that it or it would get out of hand That is what the buy sell trade area or PM is about. Here is an example. I think it could be improved a little but a good example.

I do not think we need all the pictures maybe limit to one of the Den or display case.

Thats pretty cool, I think something like that would actually go well with a B&B member's hall of fame entry.

The only problem, and its a big one....is that after a certain amount of time here you can't edit your posts. Its a short amount of time....maybe a week?

I am not sure how they do it at that site but you can always edit.

Pictorials & Videos - Post pics of your shave den, shave gear, or favorites.


The Score - Weekly threads of the shaving kit you lucky lads Scored this week or the Wishlist of shaving goodies you discovered were missing from your world this week.


Shaving Mall - Buy/Sell/Trade

Hosting pictures and posting pictures requires a great deal of bandwidth. It also affects the loading time of the site. B&B is a great resource, and I think that it's a well-organized site... with great members! KUDOS, B&B!!! :thumbup:

I see what you mean but this is more of a permanent list you can keep updated as your collection changes and grows.
