Hi guys,
I´m getting really heavily into the whole safety razor scene, but on the basis of trying shaving methods other than the pathetic 3-blade systems I was wondering if Depilatory creams or other methods would work for removing beards as well.

I know this may rub a few people the wrong way but bear with me, this group/forum is full of guys who have strayed away for the marketing hype of the disposable cartridge world.... so here would be a better place than any to push this discovery further and seek even more alternative methods...

Have you tried anything else????

p.s. would never give up my HD for anything but its a curiosity question i propose!

I am sure those creams will work to a degree and you can find them at Target in the men's grooming section. If you want to put a Nair type product on your face go ahead. I don't think these products will float anyone's boat around here. Most people moved away from can goo, why would we want to put chemical goo on our face.

Strange first post.

The potential for irritation, and chemical burn from those hair removal creams is too great for my liking. I would never put chemicals that potent anywhere near my face.

Welcome to B&B!

If you want to try it, I don't think anyone would stop you. I tried an electric when I was 15 and it was one of the worse thing ever. As for the creams, I tried that and got burned because I left them for too long. In the end, shaving with a DE or straight, is the best way for me!

I have seen a couple of dudes on YouTube using fire to burn off their beard, though I do not endorse that method.
